  1. It sounds fuller like the studio version, would you know what he used on that? Never understood why he used a Strat live forever..

No but I bet someone here does, my guess is a strat on studio. And yes it sounds fantastic, funny enough I like this version and I love opening with the chorus.

Same here.. He's struggling but decides to take the chance and go flat-out. Gonna look up the guitar though because I think it's not a strat on the studio recording
  4. Didn’t he use a Gretsch in the recording sessions for Pride? I swear I remember a whiteish Gretsch from that making of TUF documentary.

You might be right, I only guess the Strat because he uses it basically all the time for Pride but the tone is definitely more hollow bodied
  6. This is a totally fascinating show.It shows how under rehearsed they were, but there is something in this show that kind of draws you to it.The first night will never hit the heights of later shows, but the new songs do work.I guess after coming off the hugely successful Zoo TV/Zooropa tour that was going to be a hard act to follow.I,personally love the show, even for all the faults. And I think the learned never to leave it so late to finish an album, then tour.

I was thinking the same thing, pretty sure it's not a strat on the album
  8. Hmmm.... I think it is - as for why he's used the start live forever, why had he used the same guitar for Out of Control, Gloria, Bad, Zoo Station, etc - it goes for any song, it's just the sound he likes. He might even have used the Gretch just cos he had it for DYFL and wanted to try it out live...
  9. I listened to this show and Leeds back-to-back today. Though I enjoy Las Vegas for what it is, the improvements and difference in levels of confidence are obvious.
  10. I don't listen to the 1st US Popmart concerts, not to hear, not to believe that a band like U2 started a tour so unprepared. Eugene is the only concert that is quite good. Incidentally, I think the Euro and South America concerts are very good again. And it is a pity that most of POP's songs are not played.
  11. wow this show is just so “bad”, the band was so unprepared to play the new songs and in a such big stadium with an enormous screen
