  2. And what a great night it was too we rocked that old playhouse boys were on fire still love listening to this show owe the memories
  3. Awesome show, great reception from the crowd, great energy all through
  4. This isn't Glasgow?
  5. Interesting choice!
  6. Slightly disappointing given that I was at the next 2 shows (6th & 7th November 1984) immediately after in Glasgow at the famous Barrowland Ballroom. Those were incredible nights, and just ask people about the Glasgow crowds even now.

You don't have to convince me that Glasgow is the place to be for attending a U2 show

But the idea of this particular U2Start event is about listening together to an Unforgettable Fire show. We have an excellent recording of this gig and I think the balance between crowd and band on this Edinburgh night is just perfect for this occasion. And there are some interesting moments, I think, that will be fun to listen to and talk about.

I'm really not sure how well loved or known this Edinburgh recording is. Back in the days I only knew the Wembley "Autumn Fire" bootleg and the Rotterdam shows... When I discovered the Edinburgh Playhouse gig, it really stole my heart!

  8. Looks like a cracking set list.
  9. Certainly does! Wish I'd seen a show at that time, love TUF & the earlier stuff. Love every song on that setlist! I'll see if I can make it past midnight without turning into a pumpkin
  10. Just listened to the Surrender sample.. sounds very promising!
