1. Total nostalgia act.

I wouldn’t take AB30 or zootv2 at the expense of a new album and tour but ideally I want both. The only reasoning I could see for someone not wanting it is they aren’t a big fan of AB or they care too much about how the band are perceived rather than just going along and enjoying the ride.
  3. I would rather my fav band become a nostalgia act at age 60ish then continue to make music that becomes worse and worse until they die. That’s just me, nostalgia isn’t the worst.

How did they refresh/expand the JT tour? By using a 30 second video clip about Trump?
  5. Well u2 if they do AB30 or zootv 2 and also a new album with a tour they will have essentially toured 5 albums in about 8 years. 3 new ones and 2 old. They’ve played numerous different songs already over the last few years and would play more so it wouldn’t be the same as seeing the stones who have been playing greatest hits sets for years now. U2 have always made one tour considerably different to the next. The Rolling Stones don’t even focus on new material whatsoever either whereas with u2 we could be looking at tours of 3 different albums in a 10 year stretch something then stones have probably never done while you’ve been a fan.
  6. i don't care if people will view it as nostalgia. It's an amazing album / tour and if they can re imagine a modern ZooTV tour then it's probably gonna be epic. Having said that, my takeaway from these interviews is that it's not necessarily an AB start to finish concept. I think they'll tour a new album (as it seems they are working on one) with a lot of AB / 90s stuff in a ZooTV kind of tour. A ZooTVesque stage design doesn't mean it has to be AB or Zooropa from start to finish. Then again, if they tour AB that means we'll get So Cruel and Love is blindness, so that's cool.

There was the massive up to date screen compared with the old tour and longer setlists plus some slight reworking of songs. The likes of one tree hill, exit and mothers of the disappeared musically sounded so much better on the new tour than the original tour, vocally it depends on your taste. In gods country was a bit different, RHMT was finally played. They did the little intro bit of ISHFWILF for the first time live. We had the tree stage which the original tour didn’t. Some big changes some small and subtle but it all adds up to a pretty different show. I know that if they do bring out a dvd of the tour and it’s proper concert footage it’s going to be so much better than paris 87 or any of the bootlegs from the original tour.
  8. I guess it's possible that they could do a hybrid tour of AB30 plus a new album. Play the 12 AB songs, seven new songs, plus five or so hits.

Based off of these comments by the band, I would say an AB30 tour is more likely now.
