1. Beer thought. Why the feck was Bad ever on the setlist when almost every performance of the song to date was at least ten minutes long? I’d have expected IWF-SBS-Pride or maybe NYD.

Throwing Bad into such a time restrictive slot just seems silly.
  2. Anyone have a really good audio of this show?

I reckon Bono knew exactly what he was going to do before they played that song, the narrative he used that he saw a girl getting crushed so he thought he would jump down and save her is BS that's what stadium security are there for, infact him doing that only made the situation worse as you can see the crowd pushing forward and during the 80s safety barriers were at a minimum and been on the pitch could be quite dangerous during a concert.Had they not played bad would he have done that?Definitely not ,but the performance of the song was great and Bono adding the snippets at the end really added to it ,but as I said in a previous post had they done a condensed version of Bad and played IWF,Pride and NYD they would have topped Queen IMO.
  4. Oh man to have an official release of I will follow from 1985 would be freaking SAF!

I’m tending to agree with you. I’ve never saw anything from the footage to suggest that Bono saved anyone from a crush. He actually urges the crowd forward at times no doubt making things a little more uncomfortable for those at the front. All very strange but I don’t think the band had ever played a condensed version of Bad up to that point still making it an odd song choice.

In any case it’s still fantastic but it just struck me tonight as odd.

Very good point. I guess they knew Bad was the perfect song to let loose a bit and they went for it (whether Bono had previously planned to climb down to the crowd or not) knowing that letting loose in such an iconic and scheduled-to-the-second event was going to make more of an impact than any music. And it did.
  7. Queen in the bachground. Wow.
