1. If you worked with Pimm in the past, that would give you a leg up.
  2. To maintain the original vision. It would require plenty of support and approval from the 'U2 online live community'
  3. Yes. On the first edition and then academic life took over for me.
  4. Absolutely. It would be a great coterie of personnel involved. A real collective.
  5. It needs to be done. I would think that an open call for fans to submit stories for a six month window would be a great way to get open source stories.

The decision was made to keep Pimm's original book intact and that lead to the addition of the appendix for updated information rather than altering any of the content Pimm had put in place.

Pimm did an incredible amount of research which often involved going back to original sources, and searching out reviews, information from fans, recordings, and press sources from around the world. Since that time, more information has come to light, including a tour of Ireland in early 1980 that had not been mentioned in any of the three editions of the book.
I still find it amazing that he did most of the work himself. It's really impressive specially considering it all goes back to the pre-internet era. He should have been an incredible man.

Do we know if the band (or their circle, like Willie Williams) ever reached out and got in touch with him in any way? I seem to recall there was some anecdote but can't really remember any details.

A lovely person. Sadly missed. We traded so many cassettes and anecdotes.

I was with him for the 22 & 23rd August 1997 Popmart shows in London where after the shows Pimm just hung around outside cordially chatting away and could easily have been inside the stadium in hospitality.

I met Paul McGuinness whilst waiting outside the stadium after the 23rd August show. Now there's a real lovely chap. Just standing by a limousine on his own so I went over to say hello and he was just wonderful. Gave me some lovely promotional items from the Popmart Tour and signed my ticket stub too. Whilst the crowd was waiting for U2 to come out I couldn't believe my luck having this time with their manager.

Wasn't there talk by his family and friends to continue to update the books? at this point they would be better off just putting out a completely new book post Elevation tour as there have been so many tours since then.
  10. Little strange that there is only a setlist in Pimm's book about MAY 15, 1981. SAN FRANCISCO!

    Probably a better idea.
