1. Every day, the situation becomes more and more hopeless. It's almost too much to bear. Even turning on the news makes me want to pull my hair out! I am not doing well, it seems. Feels like everyday we move farther and farther away from the life we once knew and loved.

Don't get into despair, it will be over one day
  3. I see that the history of 2020 has been written already. Kudos for the quick publishing.

  4. Yesterday was the most worldwide deadly day of the pandemic since it started. 11,500 people passed away from covid19. Sad.

Globally, the world suffered the highest total one-day death toll of the pandemic so far, with 11,447 people lost in the last day. It also recorded more cases than ever before, partly as a result of rising cases in the US, but also because of Europe’s second wave, and more than 50,000 infections being recorded in India for the first time in 10 days. The global case total was 700,000, taking the world closer to 50m cases – a devastating milestone that we are likely to cross by the end of the week. Cases currently stand at 48,541,340.
  5. I know most of you in the northern hemisphere are doing it tough at the moment and I say this not to gloat but rather give you hope. Australia is now down to around 100 active cases and here in my home state of New South Wales we are starting to see a return to live music and theatre, I'm going to a Covid-safe show in a couple of weeks and two arena concerts are planned for late this month and early next, Qudos arena has a capacity of 21,000 but will host 6,000 fans at each of the shows. Many venues and artists are still struggling but these are encouraging signs.

Stay safe and safe wherever you are. SM
  6. Meanwhile, the US has given up (they never even tried). No masks mandates, no lockdowns, no contact tracing, the so called "COVID task force" has been all infected with covid ignoring all scientists and conducting super spreaders from government positions. Complete lack of leadership.
Some alarming statistics: The US has surpassed 10 million covid cases since the beginning of the pandemic. The US averages more than 100,000 a day. And 1 in 441 Americans have tested positive just in the last week. In any moment, the US will surpass a quarter of a million deaths.

The number of positive cases and hospitalizations are at an all-time high and no sign of stopping:

  7. Situation in the U.S. right now. Meanwhile the so-called head of the Covid task force is on vacation.
  8. The “plan” in the US is to literally just ride this out until the vaccine comes along. As long as Trump is in office, there will be nothing done on a nationwide level. It’s mostly just state governors calling the shots. My state (Ohio) has a mask mandate, and for the most part people do abide by it. Still, our cases are through the roof right now. I think it’s just simply “our turn”.

At this point, there is nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. It’s gone mainstream. We can wear masks, do air hugs and bump elbows all we like... it’s still coming for us. All I can really do is try to be as safe as I can, and wait out the vaccine. Sounds like the general public won’t be able to get it until March or April. I’ll be there as soon as I’m allowed to get one.

The situation gets a little more grim each day. I have quit following things like numbers and county colors, etc t just affects my mental heath too much. Just trying to live my life in the safest way possible, and hope for better days ahead.
  9. Here in Italy the situation seems to get worse day after day....no lockdown yet but many stores are closed.my favorite record shops are closed down and the owner is home with fever and I’m contact with him just to know if he’s alright.a client of mine who sells clothing has closed but he’s angry because he’s been buying “materials “ for 80thousand € and he can’t sell it.a friend of mine is in hospital since two weeks and they’re checking if he hadn’t had lungs damaged.me and my wife had positive results after swab but we’re okay,we just suffered a hard headache for a couple of days.my son and daughter are ok but they’re having “home-school “
It seems that every where i turn I know someone who is positive.this wave of covid seems larger but weaker in terms of strenght .I can’t get back to work and that’s a problem cos i work on my own.so no work no money
In April my wife lost her father for covid and she’s not happy about the situation because it seems like to be living it again.btw we’re okay.just a bit of change in taste.some food could be another.that’s why I’m not drinking wine lately.it doesn’t taste!
We all hope the situation will be better but I personally think there will be another lockdown
Stay safe everyone and hope for better days ahead
    Peace
  10. Best of luck to you and your wife, Fly40!!! Glad to hear your cases have been mild!
