1. Hi, I realize that there hasn't been a new post under this topic for a while, but I am new here so I wanted to say hello!

I'm Lindsey, and I'm currently in my third year of college (20 years old).

It seems like for most of my lifeI've always had a crazy amount of love for U2 - thanks to my Dad who owes a lot to their music, as it got him through his teen & college years. I never thought I'd say this, but I think that their music has done the same for me. Lately, more than ever I have felt a sense of reignited love for any and everything U2, and I've really gravitated towards their songs during this pandemic.

I was lucky enough to see them live for the first time during the Joshua Tree Anniversary tour a few years ago. Recently though, I've been watching (and re-watching) my various tour DVD's - & my favorite one I currently own is the Go Home show at Slane Castle. The elevation tour is probably my favorite one as of right now, there are so many moments when I watch clips from that tour and literally just get goosebumps and chills from how incredible it is. I am going to purchase a copy of the 2001 Boston show DVD for myself too! Hopefully soon!

I think that's it for the introduction! I was super happy to find this site amidst my google searches for photos of the band, and I'm looking forward to getting to know other U2 fans from around the world and talking about everything their music means to us!
  2. Welcome!

Like you I also think that the Slane Castle gig is their best DVD and the Elevation tour is my favourite (right now). There's a good HD version of the Boston gig on YouTube if you haven't bought the DVD yet.
  3. Welcome!
  4. Welcome to this site!
  5. Welcome Lindsey
  6. Hi Lindsey, welcome to the best U2 fansite in the world You've come to the right place.

Like you, I grew up listening to U2 due to my parents being huge fans since the late 80s. I honestly think it's the best musical education we could possibly have had - U2's music style is very wide and varied so growing up listening to U2 kinda "prepares" you to like almost any other kind of music, from pop to hard rock, from mild electronic to blues. What do your friends say about your passion for a "dinosaur band" like U2, though? My friends have mocked me more often than not for it since I was a kid

That sounds familiar, haha. And welcome Lindsey, always good to have a younger person balance out the 'dinasaur forum members' :-)
