1. Why would they want to do a cinema release? Nobody outside of the hardcore fan base is going to go see that. I doubt I could even drag my wife to go with me to see it. They need to just do a streaming release / DVD and forget about the cinema. That's not a good idea.
  2. One of the first dates with my wife was to see Rattle & Hum in the cinemas and we were one of only four couples there; I expect the numbers will be less for Heartland.

They’ll easily make more money from a cinema release than what a streaming site will pay, unquestionably. That’s why.
  4. Lots of people on here liked U23D?
  5. Borat2 signed with Amazon because no cinemas would be open.
  6. That was likely so the film could be released before the elections in the U.S. Most movies have been held back from being released.
  7. I don't think there's going to come a point in 2021 where the powers that be allow movie theaters to be open at full capacity. Let alone concert and sports venues.
  8. Showing it in cinemas at some point in the future makes no sense.. Three-plus years later, they're out of the spotlight.. yeah JT-related stuff will always be popular, I guess, but why not do an Amazon, Netflix or Hulu kind of thing? They could be releasing stuff now, during the pandemic, and reallyh be innovative. That's another reason I'm so grateful to those who tape and share here. If we wait on the band God knows when we'd see anything LOL.
  9. I have just been getting re-acquainted with bands and artists that l haven't paid attention to via docs on Netflix. It's a great format. Like l have said before, it is a great time to do some housekeeping. Put it out now.
  10. The dawdling and drooping with the release of the JT film is unfortunately characteristic for U2 the past 10 years. Just let them be proud of their own work and listen to the fans.

no need for full capacity for this movie. For U2 3D I had a completely private theater. I don't think they want this to be commercial succesful or whatever, but for some reason they've pinned themselves down to a theater release. It's a bit weird, for U2 3D there wasn't really an alternative, but for this it's easy to come up with better options.

It might not be solely down to them there are probably others such as Anton Corbijn, record company, distributors etc who are delaying it until the pandemic slows down and some sort of normality resumes, a lot of things have been put on hold such as work and travel so many things have been put on the back burner not just in the music world.
