Thankfully....that whole bit of Bono in the bandama rolling around with fireworks was peak cringe
  2. I’ll never forget that opening shot of the camera behind the screen at Larry’s drum kit. I could see the distance from the screen to Larry and could feel the space between each of his drums. And the audio for Pride was outrageously good.
  3. I remember seeing this in theaters with my parents. Age 13

I specifically remember the opening chime of Pride nearly knocking the wind out of me in the imax theatre. That and obviously The Fly were almost beyond comprehension in that setting.

Very sorry to those who did not get a chance but I doubt this ever sees the light of day unless they dare to include it in a Bomb anniversary box.
  5. This gives me straight chills through the opening sequence (likely the original trailer?) - the way the fly words keep morphing and turn into a famous Vertigo “EVERYONE”...if you know as much about U2 productions as we do, that’s enough to get you frothing at the mouth.

100% on that. When I saw that (view of Larry’s drums) from the offset I thought ‘..sh*t this is gonna be good..’
  7. It was the normal shots that weren’t specifically made for 3D that made it so good. Shots from the top of the stadium that let you feel the roundness off the bowl and the height above the lower tiers. Shots from GA that let you gauge how far you were from the stage and band. That type of stuff was miles more interesting than Bono swinging the mic stand around.

There was potential in 3D but it got wasted on gimmick shots.
  8. It's time for some sort of release, streaming or otherwise. Forget the technical hurdles, just release it.
  9. They could just release the Buenos Aires or São Paulo gig instead. Milan in full as well. I’m sure Matt Askem also worked on at least one of the Dublin shows.
  10. I love this opening so much, I'm still hoping it will be released someday.
  11. if this u23d goes again in a cinema, ill be in front row again and yes still hope for a release
