  1. I liked sbs in 2015 a lot. Great how they arranged it + the visuals and into rbw
  2. The visuals were superb just like for the rest of the songs. But we're here for the music aren't we
  3. No, that would be Edge's Lullaby version on the Popmart tour.
  4. If it was a choice between the two, I’d take the IE arrangement.
  5. Can anybody tell me why Edge plays SBS differently when on acoustic? 2015 just didn’t sound right but I loved the arrangement. That segue with Wolves hit hard. It was a little frosty in Belfast with the visuals too. Proper good.
  6. Both Popmart and I&E/E&I versions of SBS are so bad that I wouldn’t even waste my time choosing.
  7. Both have their place. I’d have taken Popmart SBS over the karaoke nonsense they tried. It suited Sarajevo then the rip into Bullet. Good theatre.

Similar to 2015. Good stagecraft and the stripped back arrangement meant that the new song was able to punch hard rather than following a full blooded SBS (a song that was sounding very tired after Vertigo and 360).
  8. Ohhh I forgot about the dreadful 360 versions. That was the "standard" album-like arrangement but it sounded so tired. Although coming after the atrocious Crazy Tonight remix wasn't easy for any song to be honest.
  9. What you call the "lullaby" version was one of the most brilliant and radical reinventions of a U2 song ever imho.

Yes they do have their place, in the bin. I would have taken neither the karaoke nonsense or SBS and they could have chose one of their great songs instead or just played SBS properly somewhere in the show. For I&E/E&I again there would have been other options I would even have preferred they just played the 4 innocence songs in a row rather than split them up with a really poor rendition of a song.
  11. Crowds didn’t mind it in 2015. You could hear the fans sing it. It’s a song that hadn’t sounded particularly good since 1987 so credit to the band for trying something with it. I’ll always applaud an attempt at something interesting (even if the execution is mediocre over just another phone it in performance).
  12. Exactly.
