(MLK/Walk On and All I Want Is You/Love Rescue Me being counted as 4 tracks rather than 2). Anyway I figured that was about 2 setlists worth and thought I’d make up 2 setlists that hopefully were quite well balanced quality wise. The idea was to go for a set that promoted NLOTH and a set that honoured the 20th anniversary of AB like the later shows on the tour.

    Set 1
    1. Breathe
    2. No Line On The Horizon
    3. Magnificent
    4. Get On your Boots
    5. Beautiful Day
    6. Elevation
    7. I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For
    8. Spanish Eyes
    9. Stuck In A Moment
    10. Desire
    11. One Tree Hill
    12. Unknown Caller
    13. The Unforgettable Fire
    14. Vertigo
    15. I’ll Go Crazy If I Don’t Go Crazy Tonight
    16. Sunday Bloody Sunday
    17. Pride
    18. MLK
    19. Walk On
    20. Where The Streets Have No Name
    21. With Or Without You
    22. Moment Of Surrender
    23. Out Of Control

    Set
    1. Even Better Than The Real Thing

    21. Ultra Violet (Light My Way)
    22. One
    23. 40

Late response here but this is a nice grouping...I had done a 3CD mix of all those 360 fan club tracks a long while back where everything blends together although upon a recent listen my segues weren’t as good as I initially thought they were! I should revisit this project using your “sets.”

Much like your post a few months ago about re-tracking U22 and FTGU into two shows, I've bee thinking about gather all of (well, many of) the more-recent performances of their 1980s songs (ie. post 1990s concerts, which isn't all that recent, I suppose) into a nice playlist with smooth transitions. You've definitely given me a great place to start.

(I haven't listened to that version of "Two Hearts." The sound is good?)

    6. California
    7. The Ocean / Iris (Hold Me Close)
    8. Lights of Home
    9. Song For Someone
    10. Cedarwood Road
    11. Raised By Wolves
    12. Invisible
    13. Elevation
    14. Mysterious Ways
    15. Ordinary Love
    16. You're The Best Thing About Me
    17. Summer of Love
    18. Pride
    19. Get Out Of Your Own Way
    20. Beautiful Day
    21. Zooropa
    22. Where The Streets Have No Name

    23. City of Blinding Lights
    24. Love Is Bigger Than Anything In It's Way
    25. The Little Things That Give You Away
    26. The Troubles

Would have liked to squeeze EBW, Blackout and Landlady in but couldn't work out where.

2 months later and I'm having another go.

    1. The Blackout
    2. Lights of Home
    3. I Will Follow
    4. Gloria
    5. Beautiful Day
    6. The Ocean/Iris (Hold me Close)
    7. Cedarwood Road
    8. Song for Someone
    9. Sunday Bloody Sunday
    10. Raised by Wolves
    11. Until The End Of The World

    12. Invisible
    13. Even Better Than The Real Thing
    14. Elevation
    15, Mysterious Ways
    16. You're The Best Thing About Me
    17. Every Breaking Wave
    18. Bullet The Blue Sky
    19. Zooropa
    20. Where The Streets Have No Name
    21. With Or Without You

    22. One
    23. Love is Bigger Than Anything In It's Way
    24. 13 (There is a light).

On Night 2 Gloria would be replaced by another early song such as OOC or Electric Co. If they were feeling really adventurous maybe even Red Flag Day. Iris would rotate with Landlady. Elevation rotates with Vertigo. Every Breaking Wave rotates with Summer of Love. 13 rotates with Little Things or The Troubles.

I was thinking about making a 90’s playlist next from the 21st century. It does mean a few pop songs would be from only one tour later on the Elevation tour but it’s just a mix for fun anyway. Yeah Two Hearts is an IEM without counts, exactly what I go for.

Both good Setlist ideas. I think the band were considering among other ideas doing one night of innocence and one night of experience when they announced the I&E tour. That didn’t materialise at the time but in a way with the E&I tour particularly what it became then we did get our 2 nights just 3 years apart instead of one night apart lol. But combining both albums into one Setlist is always difficult in terms of trying to keep it realistic with the balance of new and old songs. In terms of what they regularly played from the new songs over the tours rather than just me picking my favourites like California and The Troubles here’s what I would realistically go with.

    1. Blackout
    2. Lights of Home
    3. I Will Follow
    4. Gloria
    5. Iris
    6. Cedarwood Road
    7. Song For Someone
    8. Raised By Wolves
    9. Until The End Of The World

    Intermission

    10. Invisible
    11. Zoo station
    12. The Fly
    13. Stay
    14. Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses
    15. Acrobat
    16. You’re The Best Thing About Me
    17. Every Breaking Wave
    18. Bad
    19. Get Out Of Your Own Way
    20. New Years Day
    21. City Of Blinding Lights

    Encore
    22. Where The Streets Have No Name
    23. With Or Without You
    24. Love Is Bigger Than Anything In It’s Way
    25. 13 (There Is A Light)

Off the top of my head, a 90s playlist would have:
    - 9 AB songs (10 if you used that acoustic So Cruel that’s floating around)
    - 4 or so Zooropa songs (sadly, no Lemon)
    - HMTMKMKM
    - 2 Passengers songs
    - up to 5 (?) Pop songs (no sure about the quality of versions Please and Discotheque)

That’d make for s pretty solid compilation, for sure.

That’s pretty much exactly the list I’ve got, I haven’t out so cruel down but I have went for the wanderer from the Johnny Cash Tribute night so there would be 5 Zooropa songs. And there’s good soundboard versions of Please and Discotheque that would fit well with the official stuff.

Even Better Than The Real Thing - u22
    The Fly - Elevation Boston
    Mysterious Ways - Go Home:Slane
    Discotheque - Elevation Chicago 15/05/2001
    Gone - Elevation Boston
Until The End Of The World - Go Home:Slane
    Dirty Day - E&I Berlin
    Zoo Station - E&I Berlin
    Stay - E&I Berlin
Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses - E&I Berlin
Your Blue Room - From The Ground Up
    Miss Sarajevo - Vertigo Milan
    Zooropa - U22
The First Time - Vertigo Buenos Aires 02/03/2006
Please - Elevation Salt Lake 09/11/2001
Staring At The Sun - Go Home:Slane
The Wanderer - Johnny Cash Tribute
Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me - From The Ground Up
    Ultra Violet - U22
    Acrobat - E&I Berlin
    One - U22
Wake Up Dead Man - Go Home: Slane
  11. Ah. Good to know which versions of Please and Discotheque to look for.

Just wondering: Do you make these mixes so that each song flows together like a single concert? If not, I might take a crack at it soon. I might, however, used the Slane Castle version of "One."

No I’ve not made the mixes that way before, usually because I don’t want to ruin how they flow from the gig I’m taking them from. I know I could just make a duplicate and edit that but music takes up enough space on my MacBook as it is lol. Funny you should mention One I was thinking you might, the u22 version is from a gig I was at Glasgow 2009 that’s why I chose that, but Slane is an amazing version it would have been that if I wasn’t being bias.
