1. Yeah... piss break for at least half of attendance (me included)
  2. Worst song in the U2 catalogue
  3. I think Vertigo went very well with casual fans in 2005. I also think it would have gone over better with the Casual Fan than I'll Go Crazy did. I personally love this song, and thought it should have been either the first or second single from the album.
  4. Boots
  5. There is one guitar riff in this song that is even worth mentioning (the hook) and even it is one of the laziest riffs The Edge has ever come up with. I can’t imagine having to endure performing or witnessing this song live every night of a tour.

We rip on Vertigo and Elevation a lot but if anyone thinks Stand Up Comedy is on the same level as either of those two songs, cmon.

I’d rather hear Stand Up Comedy any day of the week at this stage over vertigo and elevation. I don’t think any of them are bad songs and I don’t think any are great songs so pretty equal but at least I’ve not heard SUC at just about every u2 show I’ve attended or listened to since they were released. I think SUC could have been a regular on the 360 tour like elevation and vertigo and I think after their tours vertigo and elevation shouldn’t have been more than rotationals.

You probably listen to too many live bootlegs and greatest hits songs.
  8. I would say the band play the songs too often live. So much so that all the tour DVD’s/blu Ray’s since their releases have had both songs on every one including vertigo Milan which isn’t even a full show. When I add bootlegs into the mix it probably gets better in fact because Elevation was dropped from a good few I&E shows and there’s plenty of good sounding shows from that tour without it included and there’s at least a couple of good recordings of TJT2017 shows where Vertigo was dropped. And I make up plenty of live playlists without them in it. I don’t go and see a crazy amount of shows each tour either 3 is my highest amount for a tour and despite all that I’ve still heard elevation and vertigo more than enough now, it doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy them when they play them or when I do listen to a full show they’re on but they’re pretty much always amongst my least favourites in the set.

As much as I'm all for Elevation and Vertigo being put away, they get the crowd going. SUC would have gotten a more tepid response from crowds than No Line did..I love No Line live, BTW- just based on observation. SUC suffers from mediocre lyrics and an underwhelming guitar hook
