1. Is the audio notably better in the upgraded higher bitrate video?
  2. Not notably for the audio, for the video it seems notably better in the dark aera of the video
  3. What SJ probably means is that you can buy the official album AND still download a digital copy for convenience.
  4. Yup
  5. Funny about the mistake. I think probably the management said “upload the first three tracks”, to which the employee complied and uploaded tracks 1-3. But then the manager responded - “no! We had agreed the first preview tracks would be RFD, Horses & Angel”. That manager needs to work on assertive communication!
  6. You lost me...

My post said DVD , not album. And I dont download U2 albums either. For the same reason.

You think they would just put all 6 in the download section now since the secret’s out so to speak. I guess they’re scared that by doing that it doesn’t make the gift exciting enough
  8. OK. Then read Sergio's post again, but replace "album" with "DVD".

You can officially purchase all their material, and then download a digital copy of whatever you purchased through any means for convenience and preservation. You have still supported the band.

It's a lot more difficult nowadays to "support my band" by purchasing their official DVDs, seeing how the official U2.com shop doesn't even sell them anymore (which is a massive facepalm and a conversation for another day).

Apart from IE 2015 (which is available on a few sites as "new") and EI 2018 (which is the subscribers gift and won't be available to "purchase" soon), you literally cannot buy any other DVD of theirs new from retail. Maybe 360 but I haven't looked into that.

If a new fan were to come along and they wanted to watch a DVD, they would most likely have to fill the pockets of a second hand seller on eBay, which isn't exactly supporting the band, as you would say. I would happily provide them with a download of the show they wanted to watch and wouldn't see it as stealing from the band, nor not supporting them. In fact, it could even be getting them a new fan!
  9. I dont know...up to IE DVD i bought all CD/DVDs in a local store . They did not have Paris DVD so i ordered via Amazon so i see your point about obtaining being more difficult.

I guess i am old school i sometimes use Spotify, but will still buy and listen to select few artists on CD. I like to read the liner notes/lyrics/see the booklet.
  10. I’m definitely perplexed why the band hasn’t made videos like U2 Go Home or PopMart Mexico or any of the shows from the Virtual Road available for purchase on iTunes or similar.

Perhaps foolishly I’d pay (again) for a digital copy.
