1. Morumbi 2006?
  2. Adam was on U2XRadio talking with Rocky about Record Store Day, and at the end of the segment, she asked him what to expect next from the band, and he said that they've been working on acoustic versions of their songs.

    That is literally my nightmare.
  4. Edge said this in the podcast with his cousin released yesterday:

"We've all been enjoying a little bit of a break to pursue our own personal projects. Just recharge our own batteries to that when we come back together we are kind of fully enthusiastic about the idea of working within U2."

Looks like not much to expect from the band as a whole.

Wow, that's... Well. Not sure what to make out of that after hearing Adam saying that bit about acoustic songs and Steve Lillywhite last week saying the band have been in the studio. They really need to put their shit together regarding media appearances
  6. Oh...well :/
  7. From U2songs:

To celebrate Record Store Day, SiriusXM aired a Record Store Day Special with Rocky O’Riordan on U2 X-Radio. Rocky’s second guest pn the special was none other than Adam Clayton, and Rocky spent time discussing the Record Store Day release, “Fire” with Adam, including that well discussed photo from 1979 that appeared on the back cover. But we got some news about the future projects of the band, when Rocky took the time to ask the question what’s coming next for U2. Thank you Rocky for asking!

Adam’s response was to talk about some of the work they are doing rearranging songs currently, possibly for a Fall release. We’ll present Adam’s answer below:

“Well, you know we are playing around with rearranging some of the songs that we have and setting them in a more acoustic environment. Edge got a bit of a bee in his bonnet and said you know, no pun intended, said lets look at these songs and imagine them in a different context. So we are playing around with that.
He’s putting a lot of work into changing the keys, and moving them onto piano and that sort of thing. And hopefully we will have something towards the end of the year that will show a different light on U2.

I think it’s an opportunity to explore different versions of the band in a way. Because it’s very much the early days, it’s embryonic, it could go somewhere between Leonard Cohen or Johnny Cash – very stripped down and bare – towards something that is very lush. Very hard to say where it will end up or if it will all end up with the same tone across it, or if each song will be treated differently. I’m excited to see how the songs could exist in a different universe.”

Hopefully not an album of U2 piano versions 🤮

I'd rather have a crappy album with new songs, then old song rearranged. It feels like there's no fire and inspiration in them anymore
  9. Maybe this is just a bit of a side project until they can start spending more time in the studio together. If an acoustic album was to come out late this year and a brand new album next year I’d be happy enough with that as I don’t expect a new album any sooner than that anyway. However if it’s eating into significant studio time they could be spending on new material and a new album takes longer still to be released then I’m much less enthusiastic. I can imagine they’ll be doing a mixture though of new song arrangements and figuring out new songs too. I can’t see them being solely focused on the reworkings but only they know.
  10. This can be like a the best of, you know? something apart and then that new album could come that we all want, also, with what they have said about new material in 2020, I don't think they have not recorded anything

He doesn't specify that they are old songs from previous albums been rearranged it could mean new songs they've recorded over the last year or two and that they are trying different arrangements with them.
