U2 - Gloria
Album:
October (1981)
  1. I don't know if I'd consider it a "staple" in the band's live set!

How many of these things have they done now? Cool idea - especially for vinyl lovers!

  2. Hasn't been played in Australia for 32 years, so definitely not a staple. Hearing it on the e+i tour, paired with IWF, took my right back to the early days and energised the crowd.
  3. It depends where on lives. It sounded fresh on Vertigo 05.
  4. Gloria’s always sounded fresh to me in recent years. It has never been a regular only semi regular at most since they started playing it again. They’ve always played great versions of Gloria as well whatever tour it’s been on.
  5. Not much variance in that track from tour to tour

I'd definitely call it a staple on their Sirius XM channel. They play it all the time. At least when I tune in.
  7. Live though it couldn’t really be considered a staple. E&I was its most frequent showing for a tour since after the 80’s and it was played at less than half the shows still. Then for I&E it was played at about 1 in 6 shows and 1 in 7 shows for the vertigo tour, only played twice in 2019 and not at all on JT2017, 360, elevation tour or any of 90’s tours.
  8. A favourite of mine. It was so, so great in Berlin 2018.
I prefer the live version, although the studio track has a lot of space and atmosphere and is interesting sonically.
  9. I loved hearing Gloria live, what a rocker.
  10. I've only be to seven shows but aside from a few Achtung Baby "rarities" I think Gloria is my white whale.
