1. My biggest gripe with this song is that it's recorded perhaps one or two semitones too high resulting in a straining Bono (same with a couple other songs on SOE)
That live performance on Fallon is a semitone down and you can hear it's more suited to his voice.
  2. Listened to this again recently, it still sounds like two song ideas stuck together. The acoustic version works better IMO.
  3. I never liked this song and probably never will. The acoustic version is even more boring than the album version. And Kygo is...well...not a song at all, but just a bunch of sounds.
  4. If Coldplay or Ed Sheeran released Best thing it would have been massive sorta the stuff they write throwaway and catchy and a bit cringeworthy, but no matter how good a song or album U2 release now it won't catch fire the way it did in the past mainly because of their age and they are seen as an 80s nostalgia band who are no longer part of the current music trends ,then again name a band or singer over 50 who is ?I'll wait......

    this.
  8. You know, listening to this song again, I feel that it's a great pop song. But a terrible U2 song. When I'm listening to U2, I expect more than this. It just feels so sterile.
  9. It’s still one of my favorites from that album. It’s got such an upbeat energy to it and I love how it sounds both quintessentially U2 and very modern at the same time. Easily their best lead single since Vertigo or maybe even Beautiful Day.
  10. It has a very 'throwaway' vibe. Its fun.
  11. I think the chorus and Edges bit are great
