Don't ask why, it's probably just getting a buzz off something that was a massive evolution at the time for U2.

If you ever get it,come on and confirm Simon Mayo played it back to back.Absolutely convinced he did that.Remember listening to the first play on the way to work.Around about 8am.
  3. The black and coloured vinyl will be released in Canada on December 3. Universal sent out emails last night listing it as the new release date for both versions.
  4. Our friend @MountTemple has remastered the Lakeland show to honour the 30th anniversary of Achtung Baby. Excellent video and audio from this epic show, one of my all time favorites and the night that kicked off the greatest tour in rock history.

I somehow got tickets for this. I think the place held 7-8000. Sold out in a minute or less. Tickets said Zootv on it but obviously had no idea what that meant. You can kind of hear it in video during Zoo Station but this is still the loudest show I’ve ever been to for sure. The screams were so loud that you couldn’t hear sometimes. No one had seen them live for 5 years and you could tell. Still my favorite u2 memory of the 30 plus shows I’ve been to.
Seeing a car hanging over the b stage before show was surreal. It really did blow everyone’s mind that night. And leaving after Love Is Blindness was also strange as it was very quiet leaving and almost sad.

Cheers, that will come in useful for the hunt.

You're so lucky to have gotten to that gig it was probably one of the most anticipated concerts ever at the time, they had finished off the 80s as the biggest band on the planet and the hype and expectations for this tour were off the scale as everyone knew it would be radically different to previous tours .

Holy shit, thanks for sharing that memories with us. I'm so freaking jealous right now Wow.
  10. Simon Mayo back then is what Jo Whiley is now to the band,a big fan and virtually championed them at every chance.Simon Mayo did the BBC Radio 2 interviews for SOI in 2014.I’m sure it was the old patter of ‘…coming up after the 8 O’Clock news we’ve got the first play of the new U2 single..’ I’m always prepared to be proved incorrect, after all it is 30 years ago and a lot of alcohol has passed in to the system since then, but I’m sure he played it twice,as soon as it finished he played it again.

    Pure genious!
Must say I love Bono’s bizarre guitarplaying in the beginning of the second verse of ISHFWILF. Noone plays guitar like Bono (luckily😜) did!
