1. I think I was being a sarcastic idiot with some subtle intentional stupidity thrown in the mix. Could be Barcelona 09, but I think it might have been somewhere between 97-01. But back to Rattle. How many bands can say they decided not to remaster their 3rd highest selling album? I suppose we could argue about USA accounting for double albums, but no matter what metrics are used, it outsold Boy and October combined and then multiplied by 2. I suppose the band is too sensitive to the critical backlash and they see it like they see Pop. Such a shame. "Heartland" is to me among their top 30 songs easily. On some days I would argue Top 15 or so. Oh, being a U2 fan!
  2. U2 did remaster Rattle and hum back in 2017, it’s on iTunes right now.
  3. I meant to say in an actual CD release and more so in a Deluxe package. But they hate the album, and could care less. Any information on Edge "Overseeing" that or any other remaster means he slept on the couch while somebody else worked on it.

How they can 'hate' an album with some all-time classic music on it is unbelievable.

I'd put it in this order:

    1. When Love Comes To Town (Film Mix)
    2. Desire (Film Mix)
    3. Hawkmoon 269 (Album Mix)
    4. Hallelujah (Here She Comes) (Album Mix)
    5. Heartland (Album Mix)
    6. God Part II (Album Mix)
    7. Love Rescue Me (Album Mix)
    8. Angel Of Harlem (Film Mix)
    9. All I Want Is You (Extended Edit if one exists)

And the rest can be binned. Of course, there's six remaining B-sides, those being:

    1. Jesus Christ
    2. A Room At The Heartbreak Hotel
    3. Dancing Barefoot
    4. Everlasting Love
    5. Unchained Melody
    6. Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)

.. which you could put on a second disc as extras. Nothing else, that I can think of that was *official*. The live stuff should really have been on its' own side - it's better as a film than an album.

I don’t think they hate the album, they’ve played more than half of the studio tracks from it over the past decade which is right up there amongst the most played from albums only behind JT and AB I think and tours of the album they’re promoting. Angel of Harlem, Desire, All I Want Is You, When Love Comes To Town and Love Rescue Me. I have to admit it isn’t really my favourite but I do love Heartland, Angel Of Harlem and All I Want Is You.
  6. I always thought a Sun Studios EP would be nice at some point, which would include all (4?) songs recorded there. Those that were already released could be an alternate take. This would make a great fan club gift, or could be one disc of an anniversary box set.
  7. next year Rattle And Hum will be 35, i think it’s time for a new 4K render of the movie which is unavailable anywhere now. i have a dvd from 2001 which plays perfectly but seeing the movie remastered would be amazing
  8. I can't see it. We don't even have a legitimate outlet to stream their concert releases. it would be nice if they did a deal with Amazon or something to make them available. I did own the blu-ray at one stage and it was fairly useless up until the outdoor concert footage as it was all grainy film. I wish I'd owned a good enough sound system to get the benefit out of that blu-ray.

It’s not that they hate the album it’s because of who owns the rights to who can release what. Paramount owns the rights to the movie or something like that which is why we’ve never seen any of the other tracks from that film released. Only what the band have released is what we get from them. U2wanderer can explain this better then I can.
  10. Another one they seemingly don't care about since it received bad press. They're so touchy when it comes to this, same with Pop.
  11. i literally can’t explain to me why did it receive such a bad press, it’s literally amazing it captured the band at its peak

Plus, it led to a great tour. They were absolutely on fire during most of the LoveTown tour (especially Edge)
