Croke Park 87 was definitely a huge momentous set of gigs they had just conquered America with a sellout tour number 1 album and singles got on the cover of Time magazine and had become the biggest band in the world similar to the level Oasis were at in 96 .

Easy to forget they already had a big show at Croke Park in 1985. But yea 1987 and 2001 have been their popularity peaks.

85 they hadn't quite achieved world dominance and it was just before Live Aid yes they were getting quite successful but 1987/88 was on a completely different level of success to anything that they'd had achieved before.
  4. oasis - great band and great songs

as human beings - all fucking wankers
  5. Not heard LG sound this good in a long time
  6. Yeah I saw this on BBC the weekend it was on and was very impressed by the performance his solo stuff surprisingly slots in very well alongside Oasis songs, 2022 is gonna be a big year for him with a new album and 2 nights at Knebworth, I still think he would walk away from it all if Noel called him to tell him he'd be interested in getting Oasis back together.
  7. So I watched the Oasis Knebworth documentary earlier...great viewing and I remember at the time taping the gig off the radio as it went out. Got me thinking that U2 should do something similar for the Slane gigs for the 25th or 30th anniversary. Yes I know we have had the DVD and fanclub audio of Slane 2 mainly but I bet they have a load of footage from Slane 1 and behind the scenes stuff which they could compliment with fan submitted amateur video of the day and memories for a good docu.
