1. Who voted for neither? That’s hilarious.
  2. Not surprising though, I was having this conversation with someone a while back that there are people out there claiming to be fans who would rather the band just stopped which I think is insane tbh. Surely every fan likes at least 1 song per album so if releasing a new album means just 1 good or great song to the individual wouldn’t that be worth it? It would to me anyway. I’m grateful for the October album for example just for a few good songs despite ranking it way below the rest.

Yes, sure we want a new album. Even if there's no good song on it (which i doubt), than at least we got something to moan about 😂😂
  4. I did. The question is "which album project excites you most?" and to be honest my excitement about new U2 material after SOE and Your Song Saved My Life is literally zero, none. That doesn't mean I don't want them to release a new album, or even better, two albums. That doesn't mean I want them to stop making music or playing live shows as Dean suggests above. That only means that I'm not excited about it and I have very little expectations - but I'll be SUPER happy to be proven wrong.
  5. Me too.
  6. By far, the new material

That’s still a bit crazy to me. As a fan you’re not even a bit excited about a new album just because of a few bits of new material? So the main reason you’ve explained for wanting new material is to be proven wrong. Just sounds like such a negative outlook for a band you don’t just claim to quite like but a band you call yourself a fan of. Looking forward to and being excited about new stuff is what being a fan is all about surely? Although it’s still not as bad as the ‘fans’ out there that openly say they just don’t want the band to release new material.
  8. I’m more excited about the subscription gift than either of the two options.
  9. I’m more excited about that as well at this point as I know the new album is still going to be a while away and the reworks idea doesn’t appeal to me as much as live material just in general but could you honestly say as some have with voting ‘neither’ that the new album doesn’t even excite you a bit? I find it hard to believe people aren’t even a little excited.
  10. Personally I find it's better not to get excited in advance, as I can end up being really disappointed. If I keep my expectations low then I'm either prepared for the worst or pleasantly surprised (and then I can get excited about it).
  11. I had 0 expectations for SOE, and when it came out I loved every minute of it on my first listen (except American Soul, I hated that shit. And I still do)

I put Love Is Bigger and Little Things up there with their all time best
  12. Expectations and excitement are 2 different things, sure you can pretend to yourself you’re not excited but I have to question how a fan can not deep down be excited about new material.
