1. Oh wow, surprised I didn't know that I just googled it and you're right, many 335s are made of maple. I just assumed they were all made of mahogany just like most other Gibson guitars.

Yeah I agree, but I just like having many different options to choose from. One day I want a super light body and maple fretboard and the next one I'm craving to play a heavy mahogany body with ebony fretboard - but I also like to have some to choose in the middle. In terms of acoustics I agree that I should let some go and just keep one 6 and one 12 strings and that's it, but seeing such a vast array of options just makes me giggle whenever I go into my studio Right now I've got basically everything covered (there's also a fretless bass in its case and some other guitars in the living room and rehearsal room) except for an 12 string electric. I've been meaning to buy a Rickenbacker but they're too expensive!
  3. Yeah but better to have a few of good quality than a lot that varies.
With you I just feel a Duo Jet would work wonders.
  4. Major pedal release today:

    Line 6 DL4 (1999) has retired.

  5. Finally! It also includes a shimmer (the "OCTA" reverb setting). If it had a screen for setting precise miliseconds repeats this would be the ultimate U2 pedal.
  6. The DL4 is a king amongst Delay pedals!
  7. wow, big news!
  8. been playing with herdim plectrums for the first time and i'm surprised how easy it is to throw together a basic edge sound with a strat. herdim plectrum, bridge+middle pickup position, modulated delay. little compression helps but the plectrum really is the missing ingredient that gets missed when people do covers, soundalikes or parodies.

Absolutely, 100% agreed. You can lack just ANY other ingredient of the salad and it will still taste pretty close to the real thing, BUT if you miss the Herdim your salad just WON'T get there.
  10. The edge barely and rarely uses compression. And when he does use it, it’s either on harmonics or slide, but again, it’s rare.
  11. I know but with what I've got it helped.
