I just saw Garbage with band members ranging from 55 years old to 71 years old, Tears for Fears where Roland and Curtis are 60, and The WHO with Daltrey and Townsend in their late 70s. They were all great high energy shows....U2 are not ancient in their early sixties and they have a sick catalogue of songs. I just want U2 to shut up and rock like they did on Elevation, Vertigo and 360. Bono can release his Memoirs but they can jam the remagined song shit up their collective asses. Make a new rock record with Lillywhite and get on tour. It's not that fucking hard...RHCP, Coldplay, Pearl Jam, The Killers, and Springsteen are all doing it FFS.

You are forgetting Bono had some serious health issues aswell as major back surgery in the last few years he was probably advised to cut down substantially on his workload by doctors, the Joshua Tree and E&I tours weren't overloaded with dates and were reasonably short tours by U2 standards.
  3. I doubt Bono is the one holding them back right now. 2017 and 2018 weren’t as busy as 2001 or 2005 as far as your dates go, but they had 50-60 shows both years, and that was right after Bono’s health scare.

Ever since the beginning of 360 they have seriously cut back on the amount of tour dates. I really think that had Covid not been a thing we’d be seeing something out of them by now. They were probably always planning to take it easy in 2020 and 2021 anyway.

I think once everybody else paves the way for worldwide stadium tours in Post-Covid 2022 (Coldplay, RHCP, Rolling Stones, etc) U2 will be ready to go next year.
  4. They should do like the Stones do and just do a smaller of shows in a different part of the world every year. 30 shows in North America one year. 30 shows in Europe the next year. Hit South America, Australia etc the 3rd year, etc. and just keep putting out new music as they feel like.
  5. In terms of releases, U2 delayed the SOS too much, but in terms of touring, I wish them the longest and most deserving break possible, they toured for almost a decade and Bono lost his voice in 2018. I hope they come back under no pressure from anyone because they have left Europeans and Americans more than satisfied with their 4 tours

2019 they had 15 gigs which is very few I know they played to a lot of people but it was a handy few weeks work ,after the 360 tour there was a decision made to cut down on the big tours and play less frequently, I've no doubt they get inundated with offers to play festivals which they should do more of when not doing their own tours.
  7. Agreed that they should occasionally take part in some festivals. Just take a month out of the summer in the off years and put themselves out there. They don’t have to bring a stage with them or anything. They must just be too comfortable playing their own stages.
  8. Bono’s at Harry Styles Concert
  9. I told my daughter. Great. She saw U2 already because of me She will go in July to HS.
  10. And also worth mentioning that Adam is still a relatively new father.. Larry has a history of back issues himself, and I'm sure Edge is enjoying his California life. I don't think they're in any hurry to tour. I don't see them doing 30iah shows every year

Bono's major back surgery was 12 years ago....The major health scare, which we all know was heart related, was in 2016 and maybe into early 2017. U2 had plenty of time to get healthy and rest...I think I want what we all want as die hard U2 fans... for the band to make an album of new songs, some good hopefully some great tunes, and tour where the focus is on the music....it's frustrating to see the bands I mentioned on the road now with U2 making an album focused on reimagining the past. Totally unnecessary IMHO. Leave the past alone warts and all, leave the classics alone, spend the energy on an album of original new music and then tour...
