As far as I remember there's 2 versions of Tryin' on the Salome discs. The 'Going down south' instrumental and a second on disc 7 which includes Bono trying lyric ideas while talking to Lanois (in the control room)?

Oh, and there's a great (but almost inaudible) version from Tryin from a '89 Auckland soundcheck

  2. My fav shows are Michigan and Washington DC from Leg 3, but alas I think your question is a valid one and I've been feeling like Stockholm likely has the best sound quality from what I've heard. I'm ultimately looking for a pre Zooropa show that gives us something near the sound quality of the pro Sydney or Dublin. Bonus points if it has the George Bush rap.

This is why I post before finishing up something like this. Lots of great suggestions and points that give me things to go back and listen through again to make sure I haven't made a huge oversight. Time to disappear back into Salome.

Alright, I get it. I was thinking of Stockholm when I made the suggestion. Just having Wild Horses instead of New Year's Day justifies it for me

Haha, it's fun to dive into that period. I'm still looking for new things every now and then. The 2nd 'Tryin' with the talking and lyric ideas is on disc 7 if I remember correctly.

And this is that '89 Auckland soundcheck version. Audio I found had terrible wind noise, which I tried to clean up a bit to hear the song better. Sounds like a great version though, more rocking with an Edge Solo (and I think Bono's on acoustic guitar):

If it's useful to you, here's the 2nd jam from that windy soundcheck that sounds a bit like 'I Feel Free' to my ears while also hinting at Ultraviolet:

There's a few more jams lof new ideas from other Lovetown soundchecks that are also interesting. One sounds like a hillbilly version of The Fly with Bono singing about a 'Heartbeat' (might have to do with the story of baby Jordan sleeping on his chest)

I think Kiel and Gent are both amazing shows with incredible quality. One of the two (forgot which) is probably the best Zoo TV bootleg for sound that isn’t mentioned enough, pretty sure it’s Kiel. The band are so loud and clear and it has a great mix of audience yellingg
  8. maybe this is old, but, have seen today that songs from Achtung Baby Super Deluxe and Über Deluxe editions (B-sides and Bonus Tracks) are now available on spotify

Wish the baby versions were on there
  11. Another anniversary year. Still stands tall and fresh after all these years. While JT has the hits, AB is the complete album that revolutionised the band, music and world tours. Hope we get a tribute or something from Vegas that’s been rumoured because it deserves it.
