  1. So what do we expect? U2 turning Celine Dion? U2 doing an arena tour and hopping back and forth to Vegas?
  2. I can see the business appeal of one venue only. Lower carbon footprint, easier to keep band and crew in bubbles if necessary, reduces ms costs in transporting a stage across the country. I think it actually suits the U2 setup.

Closed door rehearsals in the same venue before the first gigs. Take a week to settle the setlist and production then just phone it in every night and collect those dollars.
  3. The band bringing up Celine Dion, David Lee Roth, Shania and Usher for an updated, residency-styled What's Going On🤣🤣. But really, it does make sense for them to do this sort of thing- somewhat easier logistics, etc. But over a period of months? That's what intrigues me

  4. This arena will be something else.
  5. Maybe this show will be totally different than the rest with a full immersive experience.
  6. This venue sounds incredible. Not sure I can afford to travel out to Las Vegas to see them there if that happens but I totally would go if given the chance.

Hopeful that this is only the start of a new arena tour in the US. Exciting news, even if just rumors at this point!
  7. Vegas residency is sad imo. No thanks.
  8. It won’t be a residency like you’re thinking. This is a 20,000 seat arena, U2 won’t be able to fill that too many times.

They probably just want a big name to launch the opening of this new state of the art venue with a handful of shows. U2 couldn’t even sell out 2 shows at T-Mobile Arena in 2018. I expect no more than 5-6 shows, the venue will sell more tickets than the band does.

It’s not like U2 are playing a small theater at the Golden Nugget for a month. Don’t sweat it, people.
  9. And really, given their history of tour innovation and use (also abuse LOL) of technology, playing in that space makes total sense.

I think you’re underestimating how many people would travel if they weren’t playing too many other locations. It’s very different if they just slot several nights in the middle of a full on tour but if there’s very few or no other dates then you’ll get people travelling from all over the world meaning they could sell a lot of nights. It’ll be their first U.S. shows in 5 years as well by then so big appeal.

If U2 play a 23 song greatest hits show or AB 30 they will sell out the Vegas arena x many shows. U2 didn't sell out E and I shows due to oversaturation in the US market with I and E followed by JT17 going right into E and I. Plus casual fans weren't going to a U2 show where they weren't playing a single song off The Joshua Tree.
