1. I don’t think the Sphere even has any room to accommodate an “arena stage”. If you look at planned designs, the seats are so stacked on each other and take up so much of the arena. They would be missing out on a view of anything other than the set rectangle stage.
  2. It’s coming. I think U2’s performance standards are quite high but they definitely settle in to a tour and tap it out from there on. I very rarely get the impression that they set out to play their best gig every night. I’m fine with that but it’s why I think they’d be a good fit for a residency.
  3. I think they just want to start with Vegas maybe for a warm before a tour. Doubt this turns into a thing, morrissey just did one here, sting did as well. Not like those two are synonymous with Vegas, probably a tune up tour before the real one starts… being optimistic rn too
  4. I really have high hopes for the quality of the show and set list potential

I don’t think you’ll need to worry about viewing positions by the sounds of the technology they’ve got. They’ll be able to set the venue up whatever way works best for whatever stage set up is in town. I doubt there will be many limitations.

Have you seen the photos? Look at them and ask yourself if the IE stage could fit in there.
  7. Yeah it would easily fit in there.
  8. Just my thoughts on the venue and where the band is at with there career. I think the set list will be hopefully more experimental, and the venue will again hopefully be really exciting and new.

    Again, optimistic.
  9. I stand corrected, having looked at images from the inside with the seat structure it does look like it wouldn’t fit, long ways anyway, side ways would obviously be pointless so you’re correct based on the image I’ve seen. I’m interested though how they came up with this standing figure, usually when they do that it suggests the layout can be changed but the image I seen looks more of a permanent lay out so I’m confused. What I would say is it looks an amazing place to see a gig. Not having to worry about a side on view, and that steepness of the seats will add to a much more intimate feeling for a gig.
