Oh help me god, please no festivals. Just no!

  2. Can’t be. Vegas arena is supposed to be finished late (November) 2023. New album is coming out early 2023.

    They could try Glastonbury again.
  4. They showed that they can pull off great "one-off-gigs" in the past, be it the various club shows (Irving Plaza comes to mind), theater shows (Apollo!) or other special shows like iHeart (great "Desire") or Salesforce.

I'd really love to see them play BST Hyde Park next year and I strongly believe they are capable of doing two great performances there. They are the only major act (besides ACDC, GNR and Queen maybe) that I can think of that has never played there.

  5. Please stop lol

That is the ultimate nightmare lol

I would rather stick toothpicks into both my eyeballs!

I’ve said it before but I think U2 really need to learn from P!nk who comes down to Australia for 3 months and sells out dozens of Arena shows. They did it with Lovetown but everything since has been stadiums over a 2-3 week period.

I highly doubt they will make their way back downunder anytime soon if at all again. They know where their bread is buttered and that's in the States and Europe. I would love the NSW GOV throw the sorta money they are talking at U2 instead of Bruno Mars for the opening of the new Alliance Stadium in Sydney later this year.
  7. Sadly, I have to agree with you and expect that I’m going to have to go on tour if I want to see them again. A trip to Europe may need to be planned, although west coast USA involves less travel.
  8. When they do stadiums Australia is usually included. There must be enough appeal for them to go there and play. It’s the same strategy usually, get any Europe and North American gigs out the way, which is the easy money on the tour without so much of the logistics to worry about then South America is probably in there as well and you’ve got Australia, japan and maybe even some of the other Asian countries they did they could add in. Not saying I’d be too confident but I’d at least say there was a chance with stadiums. An all arena tour I think there’s no chance they’re going outside of Europe and North America. You’d need to go back to the original JT tour for a tour they played a stadium leg but didn’t include a rest of the world leg.
  9. Michael Eavis said they are welcome to come back and play as the elements and various other factors went against them in 2011 ,the time for them to play festivals is when they aren't committed to their own tour ,this year would have been perfect they could have done a few across Europe and the US & kept themselves sharp and in the public eye and would be good pr for the next album and tour.
  10. I am probably the only person here who thought U2s Glastonbury set and performance was decent. What were people expecting? U2 played through the elements and played most of their big hits with a homage to Zoo TV. What were people expecting?

I thought it was decent too. Not great but certainly not bad. I think when it comes to Glastonbury though people are expecting and often receive a truly great performance from an artist. Considering how big u2 are I don’t think it met that standard. But for a band as big as u2 it would probably need to be absolutely perfect. I think they can still pull that off. They should have used the best bits of previous tours I think for that one. That’s a place where to look back is acceptable. Zoo station with the zoo tv type intro, maybe even Bullet, running, streets to look back to then as well. No boots or moment of surrender required, finish with 40. Play New Year’s Day.

The general consensus was they played a good gig it wasn't earth shattering ,expectations were off the scale, weather was terrible, they were in the middle of the 360 tour in the US and hadn't played a festival for a very long time so it was all fairly experimental as regards picking a setlist knowing what would work and what wouldn't, I reckon they'd be a lot better prepared if they played there again .
