1. I don’t have any experience with ALD.
  2. 5 minutes researching into the taperssection and I discovered that Assistive Hearing headphones would most likely be bad quality. So I won't consider it.
  3. Plan B?
  4. I'm a noob. I can't ask my questions here.

Yeah ALD usually don't yield the best results quality-wise, but it's better than having no recording I guess.
  6. I've recorded a lot of great ald recordings over the years but it's very dependent on the venue. You'll never know until you try.

Don't they tend to be pretty dry and lifeless sounding?
  8. At their best, they're an uncompressed board feed. Great to start a nice full mix and layer aud and other feeds. Go listen to my foo Fighters 2021 pull, which uses the ald as the foundation.

Just recorded ald for Journey in Vegas on Friday and Saturday. Compressed but still very handy in terms of a mix.

Thanks for the info, for some reason I thought they were pretty poor sounding - probably influenced by some dismal 2001 ALD recordings that striked me back in the day. I assume they don't include audience mics and it's just the stage microphones mixed in? Aka the same feed that gets sent to the PA.

I'll listen to that FF recording, now you piqued my interest.
  10. No audience mics, no on-stage ambience mics mixed in. Its basically the same mix (mono) going over the PA.
  11. Nice, thanks!

  12. Fantastic sound man!!! What a GREAT first pull, hats off Thanks and congrats.

How was your experience? How "restricting" did you find having all the gear mounted onto you?
