1. I was at that 12th August show.Don’t forget,Bono has artistic license to mess around with facts, dates etc I think someone mentioned the first time his Da saw him play was different to what he mentioned and checked the bootlegs.I mean we all thought he got married on the 21st August 1982,then it transpired it was 31st,according to Bono anyway lol

It’s interesting to listen to link ups now in 2022,when the girls mention the politicians of the day.It definitely adds to the show.I wonder how many actual link ups there were?

  4. I found two errors in this book so far
    Spoiler (click to toggle)
The first is how Bono mentions Seattle and not Portland as the location of his stolen briefcase in 1981. The second is how Lanois produced Passengers, which is news to me

It was the 31st according to the Dublin papers that year as well. The next day there were photos in the paper stating the wedding had happened the previous day. The 21st originated in Eamon Dunphy’s “The Unforgettable Fire” which had been wrong in other areas as well…
  6. U2W1,
Can you confirm that the Songs of Surrender album is complete?
  7. Thanks!
  8. Got the book in the mail today and am listening to the audiobook as I read. Anyone else hope the new version of Iris has some industrial elements to it?

  9. Excited to read that in 1978 the members of U2 sat somewhere in Captain America’s debating whether or not to agree to Paul McGuinness’ terms of a management contract. I visited this same location 36 years later taking pictures of all the U2 memorabilia!
