1. Hi guys,

We are working on a series of essay’s about the songs which make up Achtung Baby and we are missing a piece about Mysterious Ways. Might there be a fan of the song amongst us who wants to write a short piece about the song?

Up to 750 words from any angle you fancy. The songs origin, what it means to you, live evolution etc. Whatever really. We are hoping to publish at the weekend so the deadline would be relatively tight but perhaps you love the song enough that you could spew your heart out over a coffee.

If interested please post a reply or PM me so that we don’t end up with multiples that can’t be used. Thank you muchly.
  2. Well.. just some details

Originally called "Sick Puppy"... Played in all shows between Zoo TV and PopMart... (All with piano intro)

Later a new intro in elevation tour, where also played regularly, in Vertigo Tour with short intro... On 360 and Innocence Tour without solo... Again a long version on Joshua Tree 2017 Tour.

Some details about Zoo TV performances...

1: The song also have a "baby" version (also like every song of Achtung Baby), but this version have a line on chorus which says "We move through a miracle day", and it's also appears in several 1992 live versions

2: The first leg of Zoo TV have an interesting development of Edge's solo (Lakeland, Atlanta, Uniondale, Hartford, Richfield and Sacramento are good examples of this development)

3: Of course, Bono use a lot of falsetto on Zoo TV versions
  3. Not the best way to write the post, but some curious stuff that maybe could be included
  4. Just to add.....
The Edge's guitar solo at the end of live version takes the studio version of the song to whole another level !!
  5. Thanks all. The vacancy has been filled.

Funny that I stumble on your remark about the solo, as I was just listening back my '3D mix' of MW and I can hear (part of) the slide solo in the studio version at the starting at around 3:20, but very faint in the mix:

Edit: just listened again and it's definitely that slide solo buried on the studio version, but as a song it fades out earlier than the live version.

I believe is the same riff applied on the last half of MW Perfecto Mix (it starts at 3:45), but it was shortened in the studio version.

Did anybody write the essays? I have the attention span of 4 year old, so it could be plastered all over this site, and I'd have no idea it existed. I can only imagine that nearly half the site could write 75,000 words about "One." I already know I would write about a girl I shared the song with, and then years later made fun of Bono for messing the lyrics up a few times
