1. That's their worst setlist ever.
  2. Pretty embarrassing. The band are clearly treating this as just another festival gig, why are they always so lazy when it comes to this sort of thing?

17 songs as well - that’s awful for the price of tickets. It’s either A) they plan on adding songs more songs when the arena/stadium gigs kick off (which would still be out of order and not fair on the Mexican fans); B) Matt’s voice is more knackered than we thought and this is his max or C) all of the above.

Last night was varied slightly - Map swapped with Pressure, Halloween was in place of Stockholm and New Born in TIRO’s place.

Let’s not forget they played 22 songs on the Simulation Theory gigs, 23 if you count the metal medley as two song places.
  3. I’ve never fell so out of it love with a band before.
  4. I had a lot of fun in the Guadalajara show last night to be honest. Yeah setlist could be better and especially longer, but it was awesome to have New Born and Map of the Problematique. Kill or be Killed is incredible live as well.
  5. I don't agree. The setlist in itself is pretty good if you only consider one gig. If it was my first time seeing Muse I would be rather OK with that set. It's got a bit of everything (it's only lacking a bit more of piano action, but Matt has grown to despise playing piano it seems, so that's what it is). The problem is that if it's 95% the same thing they've been playing since before the release of WOTP In fact there's only one change from that setlist I posted to the one I saw in July (WAFF replaced Nishe), the rest of it is exactly the same. And so is the stage and show design & flow. It's just super lame and lazy. And fans are burning them.
  6. This "hate" makes me feel good that they do not play anywhere near ... and feels like frist time in 14 years i might not see them on "tour" and very unlikley "festival"

  7. I found this in a Muse Facebook group
  8. This came from a recent podcast with Chris called 'Meet me at the Hotel Bar'. Chris goes into detail about trying to get back home to Ireland in 2010 during awful winter weather around the UK. He managed to catch a lift with U2 on their jet (as they had finished up their 360 run in Australia) and the band were really helpful in getting him home in time for Christmas, to the point where the band made sure the castle was opened up for all the crew for the night. The matchsticks poker story gave me a good laugh!

Great listen if anyone's interested, Chris has some great tour stories.
  9. So the WotP tour truly kicks off this Saturday. Anyone going to any of the upcoming shows?

I'm working the Plymouth show in to a holiday this May, still looking forward to it, mostly because it's my partner's first Muse gig.

Something which is interesting to me is how some of these shows haven't sold out, certainly the UK shows hadn't last time I had a look. Clearly, the band are past their highest peak in popularity (I'd say the Resistance era) and this goes to show that they've not been attracting as much of the casual audience in recent years...which makes the band's desire to constantly play the hits for a more casual crowd even more unecessary. Hoping they at least extend the setlist length to 20-21 full songs (not counting instrumentals) and throw in some more WotP songs. Maybe a deep cut from Absolution for its 20th anniversary.

We saw some minor variation over the January Mexico shows: Bliss, Map, Stockholm Syndrome, Thought Contagion, Psycho, PiB, TIRO, Pressure all saw some rotation. Nothing too major but definitely an improvment over the last tour. Think I'm going to go dark this weekend just in case they do change things up a bit.
  10. I will be at the Columbus show on March 7th. This will be my 3rd time seeing them, and I haven’t seen them in 10 years, the last time they came to Columbus!! I’m actually surprised at how well some of the shows are selling, considering Muse are way past their peak in popularity, and their relatively high ticket prices. The show I’m seeing won’t be sold out, but there will probably be at least 10,000 tickets sold, which is actually pretty good for Columbus.

I’m very excited. 2 weeks later I’ll be seeing The Killers also in Columbus, so it’s gonna be a good month.

I’m an old school fan from around the time of Absolution, which I’m having trouble accepting that album is 20 years old!! While I prefer the older stuff, I still like the recent albums, and understand their desire to not just fall into the greatest hits.

I didn't know you were a Muse fan. Good to know

Looking forward to the tour. I don't know if they'll stick to the same stage props and setlist as they did with Mexico, which was pretty lame because it was basically the same as their Fall (and Summer) shows. We'll see.

@cyborgninja117 chances are they'll add (at least) Verona to the sets, right? Matt said in Mexico they weren't playing it because "it wasn't ready yet" but I'd be surprised if they don't start performing it as a regular now.
