I'm not a big fan of all these visual images I much prefer them to them keep it simple and play the songs without any distractions because sometimes the video screens are the loudest voice in the room and take away from the atmosphere and what's going on up on stage ,as Bono said himself they don't go home humming the video but yet they continue to use them as the central part of all their tours since Zoo Tv.

I am. It's my favorite album.

If anyone has been distracted by the video screens since ZooTV that's on them. The music is still the focus, in spite of whatever video screens and tech they've used. Anyone can look at a stage and not a video screen, it's not hard to focus on one and not the other. If you want them to play the songs without any distractions, you need to go back to 1987. I'd say for the majority of tours since 92, the visuals and screens add to the atmosphere and do not diminish the music/stage performance
  4. Not excited as such, more interested really. How they'll interpret So Cruel live and revive Love Is Blindness and TTTYAATW. To be honest I didn't get the hype for Acrobat finally being performed live in 2018, I've seen it played live twice and yes it was good but didn't have an impact on me as well as other Achtung Baby songs.

Yet still, for me it's their best album and I'll always be happy to hear it.

Well that's not going to happen , this will more about the high tech visual bombardment than the music!
  6. Agree. I expect this will be equivalent to JT17/19 in the sense that the songs will provide an excellent backing track to some incredible visuals.
  7. the sphere residency has been booked for one thing and one thing only - the visuals

if people are going to thinking it's gonna be all about the music then you've missed the point of the sphere - otherwise they could have simply booked arenas

the band will always sound good and give a good performance but the whole point of the fucking sphere is the visual element full stop

enjoy the pretty pictures - just don't forget to listen
  8. I don't see the visuals as a negative. Nobody is forced to look. If you are up really close you tend to miss a lot of it anyway because you are focused on the band. I don't think the Sphere will be any different in that regard. We'll see though. There are a lot of unanswered questions given that the venue is still under construction with 18 weeks to go before opening night. What are the best seats? What are the best GA spots for this stage configuration? Will the screens make some people queasy? I can't wait to hear from those who go on opening night. 18 weeks. It will be here in no time. Hopefully the production crew can get in there soon and get to work.

  9. The last couple of tours it was all about the show and money, not so much about the music. Vegas is gonna be even worse
  10. If you are not happy with the visual experience the Sphere is built for than do yourself a favor and don't go to the concert.

For all of the Larry fans out there who don't want to see U2 without their founding member than don't go to Vegas.

Same for peope complaining, or just not that into, hearing all of Achtung Baby live. If this isn't your thing than don't go to the Vegas shows and ruin them with your negativity.

Tired of all of the negativity around here. U2 is playing all of Achtung Baby, without Larry on drums, at the Sphere in Vegas for a run of residency shows. We should be thankful that U2 are still able to play for us fans in this uncertain day and age.

I’m not going for all of the above reason. It’s still healthy to drop in and discuss. Those not going shouldn’t just bow out and sit in the corner in silence.

This is literally the most controversial thing U2 have ever did. It’s right to discuss it.

I don't go, don't worry. But it's not for you to decide whenever or whatever i'm posting.
