"Put loss and love together in one beautiful melody, never give it radio play or live recordings, then you'll have a song that can never get old. Walk On, Love is Blindness, Kite, A Sort of Homecoming, and Every Breaking Wave too. "
I first heard about U2 when I saw the band name spray painted on the side of my Jr. High School gym. Even though I'd never heard a song, they became my favorite band from that day forward.
I began a blog about the spiritual side of U2: isbonoachristian.blogspot.com but I let it die. I now blog at http://freddymartin.net/ where I write more about the spiritual side of U2... and other stuff.
"I remember Anton [Corbijn] saying, 'Oh there's the Yoshua tree'. He couldn't pronounce the J. So we stood there having our photograph taken by the Yoshua tree. We wanted to laugh but Anton would get very upset if people laughed, or even smiled. It was all very funny, not that you'd know by the facial expressions on the album cover."
