Originally posted by gmcWell played,I would love to see that trophy. But having a national side that is totally crap,I can't see England winning that in my lifetime.
I also have to say that the semi-final with Germany was one of the best games of football I think I've ever seen. Both teams took the game to a new level in this, and it was nice to see two teams wanting to win for a change instead of being afraid to lose.
Also,an ex player from my club (Everton) played and scored in a World Cup Final,Marco Materazzi.I would never have believed that in a million years, totally useless for us but ends up a World Cup Winner. It's a funny old game.
Treasure those photos my friend,'cos Brasil are gonna take it back off you in 2010......

And we all know Italy is one of the greatest football-countries in the world
Totally deserved that title, really
I also had some great experiences with Italy during the cup i must say
I was staying at the beach of Belgium for a week and there were also +/- 20 Italians there, following the matches in a café. So me and my friend also went to there and watched the semi-final and the final with the Italians I can't describe the joy of the Italians there when the match was over !
Total euphory and we joined the party outside on the beach till 3 o'clock in the morning
Unfortunately Belgium will never win the cup

Hi Bono!
Thanks for your support to Italy and for saying so good words about my nation! You make me feel proud of being Italian!
And just like you I can't describe the joy of the Italians and so also my joy for the winning in the semi-final and then in the final! I remember those days of about one year ago like some of the most beautiful of my whole life! I would wish everybody to feel emotions like those!
And don't be so sad about Belgium. I'm sure that also your nation will have a great team one day. Every European nation had a great sporting moment in the past. One day will be the turn of Belgium.
