1. The antique brown one is awesome, as is the burst-like one. Not going to lie, the alligator-skin-looking ones are hideous IMO
  2. The blue crackled one is the one I'd get if the brown wasn't available. Or maybe both, at that price

Forgot to mention that every guitar is handmade, uniquely aged... So I could end up with a pretty different guitar that the ones seen there. That's part of the charm in my opinion.

The important part: they are supposedly very well built and set-up, and the pickups are reportedly great. I'm not a fan of judging guitars by Youtube vids but there ain't much info on this axes otherwise, so Youtube it has to be:

  3. New guitar, Edge? I don't recognise that white/cream Strat. Any ideas?

  4. Or a new old guitar (or a old old guitar we've not previously seen.

As they are in NYC, it's possible that was acquired on a Dallas/Edge guitar shopping trip on 48th.

    Another pic:

Judging by the black pickguard, pickups, knobs + the larger headstock... that should date it to the 1975-1979 era.
  5. It appears "creame-er" on that video screenshot, but it's still clearer than the yellow Clapton Strat he used during the Lovetown Tour so I had ruled that out too. Good job stimating the year Edge seems to have a soft spot for 70s Strats
  6. The Edge and Moog pedals:

I remember seeing various Moog Moogerfooger pedals in the U2.com videos of the NLOTH sessions.

I wonder if he's tried (or has incorporated) any of the new MiniFooger pedals.

    MF Drive - $179
    MF Delay - $219
    MF Trem - $189
    MF Boost - $149
    MF Ring - $159

Check the video. They seem to have a lot of interesting tones. Also, it seems that they can all be altered with the use of an expression pedal. (More tonal options is never a bad thing in my view).

I can't wait to try out a few of these... Any who... Check the video link from the Moog sight.

  7. Another potentially useful delay for U2 tones?

How about the Love Pedal ECHOPHONIC V2 w/FET pre-amp

    Lovepedal ECHOPHONIC V2 - YouTube

    - Up to 7--ms analog voiced delay
    - Dry/Wet, Time, Volume, Repeats and Modulation controls
    - Analog FET preAmp
    - True Bypass

Analog delay, with modulation and with FET pre-AMP. Seems like it'd be great for both David Gilmour & Edge tones.

FET amp would be similar to the pre-amp in the SDD-3000. Plus having modulation. Seems like one to check out. And it's pretty affordable too!
  8. Another Edge-worthy effects unit to check out...

EVENTIDE H9. It's a combination of the other Eventide effects boxes

White they retail for about $499 - in the grander scheme of things as they have the best bits of the 'ModFactor', 'PitchFactor', TimeFactor… So they may well be worth the price.

So there are grab variety of Edge and Gilmour-like delays. There is Edge-like shimmer… you get the idea.

Available at the usual spots. Here are a few.

  9. Good stuff man!
  10. The ad has been removed since it's sold, but the axe it's still there (and here in my room, waiting for me to finish my work shift so I can play it) Thanks!

  11. It sounds and plays absolutely FANTASTIC. My best guitar already (besides my '89 American Strat, but they're completely different animals) and one of the best I've ever played - and I've played some really expensive acoustic Gibsons and Martins. But this one, and taking into account how much I've gotten it for, is just mindblowing.

And well, it looks just GREAT.
