1. And to round up the 25th anniversary remasters of the 4-night "Rotterdam Lovetown" stand of January 1990, here is the last one!

This is from a copy straight from the master, shared somewhere on u2torrents. It is actually the same source that was used for Rotterdam Lovetown, but this copy already played at the correct speed (again based on the assumption that "All you Need Is Love" was played at a correct speed over the PA at the time), while Rotterdam Lovetown runs 1/8 semitone too fast.
Another thing is that the latter is quite severly compressed, and even saturated at times. And while the "raw" copy of the master does not sound nearly as good as Rotterdam Lovetown, I believe that my remaster has succeeded in bringing the sound on par with that well-known bootleg just mentioned, while avoiding any of the addressed “problems.” In fact the new remaster should even sound more clear and has the original dynamics of the recording better preserved. I only wish the original MvdV master will surface someday…

    * Channel Swap: Taper must have faced stage and speakers for best sound,
meaning that PA-intro must have been recorded with swaped channels (i.e.
left=right; right=left). But based on the PA-intro "All You Need Is Love",
left and right must have switched in some transfer. Compare, Rotterdam
    Lovetown
also has switched channels in comparison to this transfer (which
    should be correct).

    # Volume adjustment: particulary after VDL

^Edit: God Pt. II = fixed; transition AIWISY & VDL (patched with mixed crowd
noise from elsewhere); transition BBTBS & RTSS = fixed; fades between LRM &
WOWY (omission of some 3 minutes of crowd noise); fades at the end (another
omission of a good minute of crowd noise).
  2. PS: frequency and spectrum analysis + artwork is included in the 2nd .rar file.
  3. You go (Big)GiRL! I'll be forever grateful for this remaster of one of my fav. shows!
Expect the usual torrent/upload to our pages soon. The remaster is complete, right? No further alterations will be made?
  4. Joyce: the 2 links are for the same file (part 1, 296.37 MB).

  5. Correct. I only had to modify the info file one more time after my initial "upload." The 2nd rar file that is now on its way contains the correct info file.
  6. New link for part 2 is added.

I only just noticed that the FLAC files are tagged properly except for the song titles...

EDIT: new .rar files have all the FLAC's tagged accordingly
  7. Took some time to play a little with the artwork - Listning last night to the show it occured to me that green wasn't the right the color...

  8. Love the artwork! Thank you so much for this!
  9. Great work Joyce. And thanks for bringing back the memories of my first ever U2 concert
  10. oh lovely

  11. That brings a BIG smile on my face Pim!

Due to personal "affairs" - well, just one actually; a typical Love-gone-bad! - I missed out ALL the Lovetown shows (and ZOO too...but that is a complete different story...).

Anyway, I really enjoyed listning to these Lovetown shows the last few weeks and I can only imagine how it must have been back then...
