  1. Does anyone know where I could find the price list for tickets and areas for Croke Park?

I was just thumbing through my original JT tour program and read this quote from Adam (as I have many times before) It made me even more excited about the thought of having these songs dusted off and brought back to life in all their glory (even those that never went away) Thinking back to the times and everything this album stood for... a tribute to American roots music, The Reagan/Thatcher era in politics, the miners strike in England, the powder kegs in Nicaragua and El Salvador... Apartheid. All that turmoil, and yet at my age then, still a sense of wonderment... Fast forward 30 years and the names, faces, places and players have all changed, but still the same shit going on.

If they do this right, kids... It's going to be wonderful and those of you who were to young to see the 1st go round... fasten your seat belts for what, the more I think about it, may have truly been where the "innocence" ended...

Talk about whetting the appetite even more. I've never been so excited about a tour and I'm absolutely determined to see a show. Although achtung baby is my favourite album, this one more than holds it own and because of its style it doesn't need to be compared to achtung baby. It would be hard to beat whatever setlist the play at these shows as the quality of the JT far outshines probably 3/4 of there work add to that a more than likely greatest hits set maybe with a bit of an 80's twist and we're in for a treat. And if they do play the album in its entirety there is no room for complaints because straight away we have 6 rarities in there which is more than we ever get in one show nowadays.

As mentioned, the more I really ponder it, this album and the whole climate of the time, may have been the transition from innocence to experience... maybe this was a part of the master plan all along as a bridge between innocence and experience!

Certainly could be. Back before we knew what Innocence and Experience would be I had hoped it would be a sequential show from their beginning to present, with Joshua Tree ending the first "half" of the show.

Makes sense. The Joshua Tree is just such a fucking great album. I know I don't need to say it here, but it really is a masterpiece - and even non-U2 fans can admit that.

Still not as good as Achtung Baby IMO
  8. I'd argue that it's different, neither being better than the other. They're very much opposites, the yin-yang of U2 canon.

But hey, that's what opinions are for!

the end of innocence and the beginning of experience! With Rattle and Hum as a lesson in humility to separate them...
  10. Haha, indeed. I always find it interesting that U2 almost named Achtung Baby "Man" (which many of us would likely argue should be the title of their final album). Definitely falls in line with that thought.

(thankfully they didn't go with the other titles, "Adam" or "Cruise Down Main Street")
  11. So who's getting seats and who's getting GA tomorrow? I still can't decide..

Can you imagine TJT was released under it's original working title "The Two Americas"?
