1. So, thinking about Bono's statement about Discothèque... does that mean they will rehearse (and maybe playing) it for Europe or Americas? Or is it more like: Discothèque? Uh yeah... the first track of that 1997 album, right?

I can't see them playing it on JT17 tour... maybe e+i tour more likely (if anything from Pop will be played ever...)...

That's my thinking also, I still fancy discotheque and staring at the sun for the e&i tour. It's the two predictable songs from pop to play.
  4. Discotheque has to seage into IYWTVD though surely
  5. Can't see that happening they didn't do it when they played it on the elevation or vertigo tour.
  6. Shame
  7. I agree, there's a few u2 albums I prefer to pop but it would be great to hear a few songs from it live since the last time I did was 16 years ago when I was 10. Don't have a particularly great memory from that night but at least the bootleg is on here .
  8. Pop is my favourite album (even if it wasn't at the time of release) and Popmart was my first U2 show (and sadly their only one in my country) so I would die to see them play a few songs, but (sadly) I'm almost sure IF we will get something, it will be just one song or so...
Would be cool if they release remake of the album (like they wanted once) and make tour to that lol

Yeah, but maybe in the encores. I don't think Elevation, Vertigo, Beautiful Day and Ultraviolet are more coherent with the rest of the setlist than Discothéque would ever be. At least there's a link with another U2's anniversary.
  10. I honestly never got it, ZOOTV was epic but this tour seemed to lack any coherence. Honest opinion, but I feel those of us who saw them circa 1987-89 are lucky in several ways. That's my five cents worth.

I thought the Popmart show I was at sucked too at the time.

Wish I could see it now with the different perspective that I have towards the whole project.

I think that was the problem only of the first leg - partly unprepared and partly prejudiced crowd... From second leg it became epic (including another NA leg).
All (almost) people who complain about it attended first leg show...

  12. Label mentality made all jobs "simple" unless you were a lazy executive.

Still, the job had its perks, I'm sure. When I left Warner Bros. and started to realize how much concerts cost when you had to buy tickets I was depressed.
