The context of that "I believe in Love" is the voice of an angry Bono fighting against the world. Nothing to do with the mature/experienced one singing Love is Bigger Than Anything in Its Way trying to include everybody in the "Us". It's a song when he sees "Us vs Them", instead of "there is no them, only us".
It also doesn't have the self criticism you can find in Acrobat or Staring at the Sun (or even The Troubles).
The closest we've got are SBS, which is transformed to a more mature dirge instead of a teenager angry song, and Bullet, which was transformed to reflect exactly the inner conflict between the innocence and experience.
So... while that's one of my favorite songs from R&H, I don't think it fits at all with the shows theme.
