Another curious one I stumbled upon today thought I'd add a comment here. Don't know the story behind it but Edge is wearing an eyepatch over his right eye on the photograph used for the fan artwork for the Birmingham Locarno show 19.10.1981. Photo is an on-stage photo from the era. Probably just an eye infection or something. Interesting one though. Arrrrghhh mateys! (Sorry had to throw a pirate pun in there!).

One other minor addition you could add is Bono's voice problems on the LoveTown tour - the 'psychedlic germs' (as he called them after coming back from Australia / NZ) and the Amsterdam gig that ended up being a free gig essentially when his voice gave up on him. And then a fair bit of smoking in the early 1990's did a bit of damage to his voice which was evident at times on the Popmart tour, something that thankfully he put a stop to as his voice had definitely improved again by the time the Elevation tour came round. Not sure if he's smoked at all in recent years since then.

This is great. One thing I noticed that was missing is that Bono reportedly suffers from narcolepsy. I've heard him make reference to that a few times though not for many years now. He has occasionally been found unexpectedly asleep in some odd places. Remember reading about some award ceremony on the Zoo TV tour that he attended, and he decided to make his own way back to the hotel (in some US city) and ended up falling asleep on the street somewhere. Theres also some footage from the Achtung Baby / Zoo TV era (it might be on the Achtung Baby Interference video if memory serves correctly) where Bono is asleep with his head down at a dining table.

Thanks Volkan! Will update later.

The book says "the day before they were due to leave (London Tour 1979) Adam borrowed the family car to drive himself and Edge to rehearsal and on the way managed to collide w/ a truck. The car was written off and they were extremely lucky (...) The Edge had seriously damaged the tendons in his hand. The followin day the band left Rosslare heading to Fishguard. (Sam Goodman)

Hi Remy, hi U2 fans. I read this story in "The Burning Desire" by Sam Goodman. I'll post that quote as soon as possible.

Larry had hand issues as far back as the Unforgettable Fire tour. He received cortisone injections in NYC. I believe it was discussed in his Modern Drummer magazine interview from 1984.
-
As far as I recall there was also something with Larry's left or right wrist from drumming - but I don't have any source for it unfortunately. Came across years ago on some old article I think.
Maybe we can add Edge's early lost of hair as his main health problem *g* -
Thanks Volkan! Do you have some source for it to get information from? Would be nice to add.

By the way, don't forget the car crash in Dublin while Adam was driving and The Edge was on the passangers seat circa 1980. Result: Edge's hand tendon injuries.

Great timeline! As Bono would say:
It's not how weak
but what will make you strong
Bono will come back from this, a little stronger, ready to rock on in the next tour! -
Thanks for this Remy Hope Bono will be Ok soon.
