1. Did I just type "Springstein" ?
*A 2nd study showed an unprecedented decline for U2 fans*

  2. LOL

    Because I'm paranoid, and confrontational.

While the study's site shows that student(s) from 1,352 schools participated in the study, we cannot deny the fact that this study was done with a relatively small population. In 2010, 1.6 million students in the United States alone took the SATs (www.campusprogress.org). Also, we do not know much about the tested population. All we know is:

    - They were college-bound high school students who took the SAT.
    - The top 133 artists chosen by students in 1,352 schools.

Where in the country were these students? Were they evenly dispersed, or bunched in certain areas? Were these public / private institutions, religion / race / gender specific, etc.? Were the number of test-takers per band / group equal? There are too many variables that were not properly controlled.

The bottom line: While we all know that we are obviously smart, but unfortunately, this study just isn't enough to prove it.

Of course the research lacks validity, but see it as entertainment, don't say you didn't enjoy reading this

That’s with all tests, there are always exceptions (sometimes more than others), these are just average results.

like I said, there are always exceptions, just kidding

  5. you've got a point

  6. I noticed the lack of The Boss too. Strange. I thought he was quite popular over the US, even more than in Europe...
  7. A Spanish website is posting this study as if it were breaking news, and people are raving about some of the bands in there I can't explain them all that we discussed this thing almost 4 years ago (and still it was old news by then)... Anyway, here's a bump, maybe it will get more discussion this time.

  8. I still find the lack of Springsteen and Floyd amusing
  9. Do you become smarter after listening to U2?

    Or

Are you already smart, and therefore able to appreciate U2's awesomeness?

    Chicken or egg?
  10. Muse should be higher!
