    B) I'm waiting for the studio version to have a better opinion
    C) I don't think it's a jam. They tried to make a noisy piece à la Sonic Youth and it quite worked because that music never belonged to U2. But yes, live could work only acoustically (as they rehearsed in '92).

Acrobat overated? I want what you're smoking.
  3. I'm not saying it's a bad song, I just think people talk about it like it's one of U2's secret treasures and one of their best. I don't think it is, it's a really good "album track", but nothing more. To compare it to other songs in that category, I'd say Heartland is better, I like a lot of the album tracks on Zooropa (Some Days, Zooropa the song) better.

I'm happily in the Acrobat is overrated camp as well! .

At Hansa studios, the studio engenieer asked us which U2 song he should blast over the speakers... Someone blurted out ACROBAT... and honestly... NO . Anything. Love is Blindess anyday over Acrobat.

It's because it has never been played live before that being "a really good album track", it gets the magnified treatment.

I have to disagree, I think Acrobat is a truly great song and one of there best, that trio at the end of Achtung Baby is something special. Although I will agree Heartland does edge it between the two, i'd probably give Heartland a 10/10 and Acrobat 9.5/10.

    +1
  8. Ultraviolet is one of my alltime favorite U2-songs, but I absolutely hate the treatment it got during the JT30 tour... The chorus sounds so underwhelmed, uninspired, tired...
Plus to me it has always been a personal and tragic love song. Not every song needs to be transformed into something political or bigger
  9. They should never play Acrobat live because it will only dissapoint you guys

They should have left it at the 360 tour and never brought it back ever again.
