See all the lossless Dublin 1993 versions which are sourced from an FM Broadcast. Not to mention the Sheffield show in 2009 among many others over the years.
I might be wrong but if you look at the info for the 8/15/2009 show that is in mp3 on this site, it was originally in lossless form (FLAC) so it must circulate somewhere. SOURCE: FM broadcast
HARDWARE/SOFTWARE USED:
Lineage: Cable-FM (NAC-HD1E) > Sony STRDB1070 > Creative AudigyHD > CD Wave Editor > Flac Frontend FLAC 8 Aligned on sector boundaries and verified.
I think that most people consider a recording made direct from the airwaves a lossless source if encoded directly in Wav/FLAC/ALAC/SHN, etc while a recording made from a stream of the broadcast is always considered lossy due to the limitations of the stream. At least that was how it was years ago back in my trading days. That may have changed in the years since.

New here. All and all, thank you very much for all the people who contributed so far to u2start.com, specially with the iem and soundboard recordings, which are fascinating, specially San Sebastian 2010, it is the best.
I got a request. Anybody know if there is a lossless version of 2009-08-15 Wembley Stadium, London? This show was partially broadcasted by BBC, later on BBC Radio 2 as well. I found the lossy version in Audio, but not a lossless version.
Thank you very much,
Stay safe,
David
