"Excellent Boy show with one of the best sounds available. At the break, Bono tries to open a bottle of champagne, but doesn't know how. That was very funny."

Comments:
We recently added a new recording of the amazing Boy show in the Rainbow Music Hall from 1981 with amazing sound. But that's not all we would recommend this show for, as it has many rarities from the early years of U2 including an early version of I Fall Down, the first ever snippet of Let's Twist Again and a different snippet in The Electric Co. At the break, Bono tries to open a bottle of champagne, but doesn't know how. He also thanked promoter Barry Fey, who later took the band to Red Rocks. A highly recommended show.
Not so fun fact: Bootlegs of this show have circulated as "fake bootlegs" for the show on March 28th, 1981. They usually have the name "Lost Broadcasts". Don't be fooled: they are recordings of this show.
On a much lighter note, it's fun to hear a young Bono so unacquainted with champagne, before he did this as a routine:
Ok, one last thing: it was during those days in their first show in Denver on March 28 when the band knew Chuck Morris and Barry Fey, who took the band to meet Red Rocks. "You'll play here some day", Chuck said. The rest is history.
Absolute must have! I uploaded the "Messing With Champagne" source to our torrent section many years ago, overall it's one of the best bootlegs from the early 80s in my opinion!!
