1. any appreciation for this great band from Manchester?

it is my hand-to-hand band , along with U2
  2. Loveeee them will see them again on August 1st
  3. I loved James in the 90's and saw comparison to U2 sometimes, especially Whiplash and the eno stuff.
  4. Saw them in Dublin in '91. Great band
  5. my knowledge doesn't extend much past their best of compilation, but they're a great band for sure. they had some classic singles and don't get talked about enough.

Took the thoughts right out my head.
  7. Definitely one of my top 5 bands of all time.
I would've said top 3 but just to be sure, I'll go with top 5.

Interesting fact, unlike Bono/Macphisto, Tim Booth did got the chance to play a Batman villain.

  8. LOVE JAMES, my other favorite band. Saw them in 2012 on their North American promo tour. Great people, great fans, it was just great. It let me catch up for all the tours before I had missed.
  9. LOVE JAMES TOO it has all my personal selection and sentiment stored there in my pc thanks to the production of my folks and gifts from relatives...
  10. La Petite Mort their album released late 2014 is an album that takes a couple listens to appreciate. Tim Booth's Mom died from Cancer while writing the songs. 'On My Way (Moving On)' and 'All I'm Saying' are about her. They are for me just as much as it is for him. We lost our Moms the same way. 'On My way' is JAMES' 'Iris (Hold Me Close)'. It will bring tears if you delve on its words too long.

The songs translate extremely well live. Mark Hunter is an amazing piano/keyboard player. Andy Diagram's trumpet harkens back to 'Heavens' (which I saw live- oh my!) off the Seven album. Powerful stuff.

That's my tour itinerary for 2016. JAMES.
  11. ugh... that yarn video had me crying like a little girl but couldn't stop watching it for days.

    edit: In case anyone's interested:
  12. mmh... not that impressed today.
