  1. KORG A3 USERS, I'm looking for any help, settings etc, with the A3 for AB/Zooropa sounds. especially Mysterious Ways

    While I'm hoping people are willing to share tips and settings for my own sake, I was hoping this topic might get a bit of traction and pop up in future searches by other people looking for the same info.

    There doesn't seem to be any definitive resource for people to pool this info (or there previously was judging by miryclay's reply below), which is a shame given it's an essential piece of kit for some U2 fans whether amateur or in a proper cover band.

    If anyone here is willing to share any advice and settings for songs we know The Edge recorded using an A3, then please chime in! Would be grateful to hear anyone's take on this as I'm sure there's a bunch of different methods.

    U2sound-forum was your go to place for these questions in the past however it has been taken down. I would suggest reaching out to the UF cover band in NYC for detailed channels and such for the Korg A3.
  3. hi Miryclay thanks for the response. I'll probably take your advice and reach out to them, but truth be told I've always been wary of reaching out to cover bands (including one I've seen a few times) in case they get asked all the time and my email is the straw that breaks the back and I end up getting a very angry response haha

    it might be worth me getting in touch with a cover band or two, it's just a question of whether they'd be okay with me sharing that info further in a thread, which I hope they would.

  7. If you have the Korg already, this option is beneath you but, if you stumble on a Digitech rp360, factory preset 69 is called MysteryWhey.

    Facotory Preset 19 is called U2 Streets.

    69 is a very appropriate number for the Mysterious Ways preset

    XCIT - 45 - 9.3
    DLY1 - 200 - 0.0 - (-)35 - 22 - 6
    FLN1 - 0.80 - 14 - 55 - 0 - 0.2 - 42
    PL1 - 1.7 - 6 - 20 - 6 - 2 - 0

    Patch 2 - from the arpegios (3:56) till the end:

    CHAIN 22
    OD – 60 – 85 – 10 – 0.9 – 5 - 3
    XCIT - 20 - 1.9
    DLY1 - 460 - 0.0 - 15 - 2 - 28
    FLN1 - 0.20 - 62 - (-)65 - 0 - 0.2 - 40
    PL1 - OFF

    For Korg A3 you will have to use one of the effect chains from the external card (KORG A2 and A3 are basically the same, except that the A2 has all the chains inside already, while A3 has only some of them and others have to be loaded)
