1. First of all, Denver 1987-11-08 was recorded & played back WAAAYYYYY too fast! Bono sounds like a chipmunk! It is SO speeded up that the songs are a full step (two notes) higher in pitch than they should be. It's actually difficult to listen to.

Interesting... during Sunday Bloody Sunday, Bono said, "where thirteen people lie dead," but the film is corrected to say "where eleven people lie dead." I never noticed the discrepancy in reading his lips vs. what he said. I'm gonna have to check that out next time!

Does anybody know which date the Sun Devil Stadium songs came from? 1987-12-19 or 1987-12-20? Where the Streets Have No Name, MLK, With Or Without You, Bullet The Blue Sky, Running To Stand Still? I know all the others. Thanks!
  2. Also, they played In God's Country completely on 1987-11-08, but the edited film cuts out the second verse.

Wow, I thought acquiring 1987-11-08 was gonna be sweet! Turns out 1987-11-07 is 1000X better boot, and my DVD-Rips are as good as I'm gonna get for 1987-11-08.
  3. Another discrepancy...

All Along The Watchtower from Save The Yuppies concert on 1987-11-11: "Rock and roll stops the traffic" was actually done during Pride, not All Along The Watchtower.

Also, at the end of Watchtower, Edge plays six sustained notes in succession. In the film (before the cut to In God's Country) those notes are altered to be the first six notes of the Star Spangled Banner.

The 19th for Streets, MLK, and WOWY. BTBS was recorded 20 December. RTSS was acctually in Denver 1987-11-08.

I know, In God's Country in particular is a nightmare.

  5. thanks!

i'm catching onto their tricks, slowly but surely...
  6. I agree! It is fantastic to know the real concerts, without editing...
I noticed the "Thirteen" mistake when I heard the boot the 3rd or 4th time, because i knew the speech and I was talking over Bono while listening...

Another rough edit is from the San Francisco concert, if you've downloaded it (and the video) you probably noticed that Bono says "Rock'n'roll stops the trafic" in Pride, not in All Along, and the graffiti is done also in Pride (that can be easiliy seen on the movie, the voice of Bono sounds while the image shows him walking or so)... Quite fun!

And last, the other songs (Streets, WOWY, Running..) are from the 20th night... It's a usual mistake, many people thinks they're from 19th because of the Soundboard recording...

EDIT. Oh shit, I've spent many time writing and your post has been answered...

  7. You make me feel fool...

I really thought they were from 20th...

  8. Do you mean Star Spangled Banner? What I posted earlier was confusing; I apologize:

The website is correct. After With or Without You, the next song is a recording of Jimi Hendrix's "Star Spangled Banner" from Woodstock 1969 played on the PA (hence the "non-U2"), and then U2 begins "Bullet The Blue Sky."

What I meant was, at Save The Yuppies Concert after "All Along The Watchtower" as as Larry closes the song with a drum fill, Edge jams on a few notes (5 or 6 notes) but they are random notes; they don't add up to a recognizable song or anything. In the Rattle & Hum film AND album, however, these notes are edited (or re-recorded) to also be the first six notes of the Star Spangled Banner (baaa...da-da..da....da.........daaaa)

I love this few notes, edited or not... They fit perfectly to the outtro of All Along... The Edge is a genious
  10. Actually I agree with you, I love those notes even edited.

I just feel like I'm some madman detective on a rampage to uncover all these secrets

Listening back on it, it's amazing, they ONLY changed the VERY last note; the rest are the same. I guess Edge meant to play it as Star Spangled Banner but fumbled the last note, so they re-recorded it later.
