1. Every month we put a U2 fan in the spotlights, the fan of the month April of 2024 is user muzika. Read along for the interview we had with this U2 fan.

"U2 is better in arenas... my highlights were Ultraviolet, Crazy tonight in 2009 and AB loving in 2018."

Tell us something about yourself, who are you and what do you do for a living?

Hello, I would sometimes hope over to fan of the month section never expecting to be featured. OK...my name is Maja, aged 45, employed in archives of a 50 people company. I own a cat, my hobbies include traveling and learning foreign languages.

How did you become a fan of U2, tell us how it happened?

It first briefly started when AB came out. I would enter my brothers room only to hear drums, guitar and bass all sounding very cool (I was in elementary school so my English wasn't totally there yet to fully understand the lyrics). I also got about half of JT on cassette but thought the album after Running to stand still was boring. I really get into it in 2000 when I come across U2 sites online. Enter ATYCLB short clips and the rest is history.

What does your U2 collection look like? What kind of stuff do you have and how is it organized?

Well all the albums and Best ofs. U2 fan club gifts Apollo club and AB30 CDs and my bootleg collection (pics attached). Albums are in a CD rack.

What is your favorite band member? Has this changed over time?

    Bono, always has been.

When you're forced to leave to a deserted island and you can take only one U2 album with you, which would it be?

AB. I briefly considered taking the trip to the Sphere shows but too far, too expensive. I did see 360 in Zagreb and I/E in Milan. I definitely agree U2 is better in arenas. Or maybe half of AB in the setlist in 2018 did it...my highlights were Ultraviolet, Crazy tonight in 2009 and AB loving in 2018. Still hoping they consider at least a brief stadium run of AB touring. Top song: So Cruel.

Does anyone in your family or one of your friends like U2? If so, did they introduce you to U2, or did you "convert" them?

My brother is also a fan. Others not so much, my dad who only likes opera singers like Pavarotti did praise the vocal for I still haven't found... upon hearing it in the local gym!

How is U2's popularity and fan base in Slovenia?

Pretty good. I remember reading some 30 000 people from Slovenia are said to have attended the two Zagreb shows in 2009.

What are your expectations of U2's next album?

A guitar noisy album. I hope The Edge gets inspired again.

How different is U2 compared to other artists that you like?

I prefer them over all others. No other solo artist or band can move me like they do.

What are your hobbies and interests away from U2, musical or otherwise?

Traveling, a pet tabby cat, and attending foreign languages classes.
