  2. I still don't think Mercy will be on it, U2 have said so much in the past, I wanna see it first before I believe it.
    Bad news the album will be coming out in 2008, but we already knew that eventually, it'll be 4 years just as before. Some things will never change

  5. What I'm curious about is, if they already know Mercy is gonna be on it, how can they know? Are they heading in the Mercy direction for the new songs? What if all their new songs are a way different style than Mercy? I think they will drop Mercy if they're gonna try something new, and if Mercy will be on it, we will have Atomic Bomb part II.

    so why is Bono so suprised?!

    and I realy do hope that Mercy will be on the next album!

    Eh, because it wasn't? Don't know where you got that from, but Mercy was never officially released nor part of any other release. It was on a copy of an early Atomic Bomb album which Bono gave to a fan which spread it on the internet.

    It's on my Unreleased and Rare. Not the Apple one, officially and as Remy said it was from a CD Bono gave to a fan with the song on it. I have a feeling that the direction of Mercy may be the one they take, songs like All Because of You, Vertigo, City of Blinding Lights have a way more rocky edge to them, and the others like Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own, Yahweh, Miracle Drug etc are more melodic.

    So maybe half the songs will be rock and the others more melodic and that's where Garett Lee comes in for rock, Rick Rubin for melody - or vice versa. It will be interesting, but I think Love Is All We Have Left is one of the beach recordings because if you listen I think, I think....it goes, Love is all we ???? Correct me if I'm wrong.

    But it would be nice to hear a bit of Mercy in the new album, particularly if it has been developed further and made better because Mercy was an excellent song - but - it could be improved because as we all know, U2 songs go through two or three re-writes. Vertigo was known originally as Shark Soup, Native Son and as we know and most know, Vertigo.

    it's realy cool how the song came from one cd and now there are thousands of copys!

    You've got a point there... I hope they'll bring out Mercy as a single then and change their style for the new album... (in that case they may wait till 2010 if they have to )
