1. everyone knows that the slane DVD has the best version of sunday bloody sunday mainly because of bono's antics in the middle part... do you think that was rehersed or was it just a spur of the moment thing where bono just "let loose"??? all the "put your hands in the sky... put your hands in the air!!" "no paratroops.... no petrol bomb!!!" "three years after Omagh..." it all just had natural flow about it.... do you think he rehersed it???
  2. Almost everything is rehearsed on a U2 show, so there's a good chance this was rehearsed too. It would surprise me if it wasn't actually.
  3. Knowing yer man,he'd probably forget the lyrics these days to an ad-lib......
  4. I don't believe these parts are rehearsed...

Yeah I agree. What about switching the order of 2nd and 3rd verses... do you think this was a flub b/c Bono forgets lyrics all the time, or do you think it was planned?

If it was indeed a flub, I must say I'm proud of Bono remembering to go back to "and the battle's just begun" after his rant instead of accidentally repeating "and it's true we are immune" verse twice over.
  6. theres too much emotion in that rant for it too be rehearsed I reckon. He obviousley planned to do the name call as you can see him reading the names off a screen but the rant I think is all Bono. Rehearsed or not its absolutley great
  7. I think they leave certain parts of the songs open for interpretation. They been playing together for so long I'm sure they can read each other pretty well. I think this is where they get the magical moments that happen during many of the shows.

But I agree, they do rehearse many of these things.

i totally agree with you germcevoy!!! bono is famous for his emotional speeches and i don't really think it's all rehearsed! but if it is, it surely is great too!! i suppose that after so many years they have an amount of control of things that lets them do these kind of spontaneous stuff!
    either way....i LOVE it!!!
  9. it probably was but not all of it they probably just said 'oh lets talk about Omah during this part and read the names at the end' but i doubt he made it all on the spot its probably a good mix
  10. does anyone know, since most things are rehearsed, if bono made a mistake in the order of the verses?

i'm pretty sure it was just a mistake. It certainley doesnt muck up the song. I like mistakes. It shows that they are in fact human
