1. Boy is probably the best "initial" album of the history. Bono said that...

    Hi BelgianBono!
I'm happy for you that you got U2BYU2! Enjoy the reading, just as also I am doing.

Streets Mission is available here: http://www.u2start.com/bootlegs/1978-06-00/Unknown,%20Unknown%20-%20Youngline%20-%20Irish%20TV%20/ and here: http://www.u2start.com/bootlegs/1978-11-01/Dublin,%20Ireland%20-%20Keystone%20Studios%20/ . They are two studio recordings and I think there's no live version of this song.

Life On A Distant Planet is not available in any studio version, but I remember I heard it somewhere in a live version. Though I can't find it. If I find where I will tell you.

Anyway, if you're interested in early U2 songs just wait for my next compilation. I only have to download some more shows and I will make an early-shows one.

Life On A Distant Planet is one of the BBC contract recordings. Cool song, I will upload it if I can.

I think Boy is their best initial recording, particularly Out of Control and I Will Follow. They don't play a lot of songs from POP or Zooropa but quite a bit from Boy.

Out Of Control, The Electric Co, An Cat Dubh, Into The Heart, Stories For Boys... And of course i Will Follow...

Yeah, you're right about that. Boy is still alive in the present of U2. That's important.

I'm very interested in U2's early days. Their talent was not totally visible yet, but I can't say how they could make such great songs! Think of the whole Boy album. A great work for four guys who weren't able to play covers! But also some of the songs that were released only in singles CD were great. One example: 11 O'clock Tick Tock!

I thnik their passion brought them trough the first period...
Just all of the guys energy (especially Bono was explosive)
And then the talent came above, just when they started to record the first Album...
With a mix of those they, they worked till they made the final breakthrough with a perfect album, The Joshua Tree

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1Y2XISVZ

And Emiel, where'd you get that CD from? Sounds interesting - I have a few old tracks but not all that lot.
  9. well i bought it on the internet by a dutch selling site called www. marktplaats.nl .
    it's a sort of ebay site in holland .....i paid i think € 20.- for it .
i've you go that site just search for u2 and there are mostly for about 700 until 900
articels like cd's /bootlegs'/t-shirts/books /flags/meschandising and that sort of goodies on it .
it's a great site here in holland you could possibly find almost anithing you want on it from
cars and horses until fingerheads ......
  10. WOW
    These early ones are awesome
  11. Stupid me forgot ofcouse the almost heavenly Youtube...

    Street Mission :

Very strange, Bono sings for 35 seconds, then let the other boys do a "solo" (well yeah with 3) and comes back after 1min 15 sec to finish the song with the group...
    Strange song

Life On A Distant Planet :

Same style as Street Mission i think but this also has a strange video...

Strange but i kinda like them
